IES Standards Writing Committees: Call for Members
IES is calling for applicants to participate in revisions to the following Society standards:
•
ANSI/IES RP-1 Office Lighting: This committee is
directed to lighting practitioners with expertise
in office lighting.
•
ANSI/IES RP-3 Educational Facilities: This ANSI
standard will be published soon, and the committee
needs new ideas for the next step/revision.
•
BIM – Lighting and Building Information
Management: This committee is exploring how
BIM is impacting the lighting profession, and
how best to connect software capability with
quality lighting practice.
•
IES RP-11 Residential Lighting: This committee
has a rewrite and needs reviewers and new
design images.
•
IES RP-4 Library Lighting: This committee’s next
task is to review and approve a learning module
based on the newly published IES RP-4-13, and
then to create the next direction for an update to
the standard.
•
Roadway Lighting: To establish the scientific
principles underlying roadway lighting; to collect
data on the results of the application of such
principles to actual practice; to prepare such
reports thereon as will assist those charged with
safety on roadways in minimizing the hazards of
night operating conditions.

the IES to fund programs that benefit all segments of the membership and pursue new endeavors,
including education projects, lighting research and recommended practices. The level of support is
classified by the amount of annual dues, based on a company’s annual lighting revenues:
Diamond Elite: $25,000 annual dues
Lighting revenues over $500 million
Gold: $2,500 annual dues
Lighting revenues to $50 million
Diamond: $15,000 annual dues
Lighting revenues over $500 million
Silver: $1,000 annual dues
Lighting revenues to $10 million
Emerald: $10,000 annual dues
Lighting revenues to $500 million
Copper: $500 annual dues
Lighting revenues to $4 million (Copper members are listed in the IES Annual Report.)
Platinum: $5,000 annual dues
