Windows Azure referencer - Mamut
Mamut chose the Windows Azure platform in part because it offers a relational database in
Microsoft SQL Azure. Mamut also believes that because Windows Azure is a development
platform, partners will be able to collaborate on new applications and go to market together.
The company’s first foray into “cloud computing” is Mamut Online Backup, a solution that
keeps the user’s most important files and folders automatically encrypted and protected at
all times. Mamut Online Backup uses Blob Storage in SQL Azure to store an encrypted
backup of a customer’s on-premises relational database. Mamut plans to charge customers a
flat monthly fee for a specific amount of storage, with an incremental cost for each additional
gigabyte.
