Normally found above funning water and thrive in high light as well as shady conditions under low trees or bushes. Rare. Phrag. besseae This is a terrestrial orchid native to the wet montane forests on the eastern slope of the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The inflorescence is 1-6 flowered, opening sequentially, up to 50cm long. Phrag besseae grows and blooms best in cooler temperatures. They are not tolerant of high temps. They frequently grow near running water and like an acidic medium with a pH of 6. They do best with rain water. Phrag. Cardinale This is one of the nicest white pink, rose, red combinations.
