Beaverdam Park has something for everyone with its 635 acre lake and 1,340 acres of
natural splendor. Beaverdam is open 7 days/week and is located in the central part of
the county. The main entrance to Beaverdam Park is located at 8687 Roaring Springs
Rd (Rt 616), off of Main St in Gloucester Court House. The second entrance to the park
is located at 9537 Fary’s Mill Rd (Rt. 606).

SANTA ON THE TRAIL
For children of all ages. Get in spirit for the holiday season at Beaverdam Park. Enjoy a
short hike along a naturally decorated trail to find SANTA. Have a magical time and stay
for some cocoa and cookies. Digital pictures of your child and Santa can be sent to you
via email.

HOLIDAY CAMP
FISHING
There is NO charge to fish from fishing pier or bank. A Virginia Freshwater Fishing License
is required for anyone over the age of 15. Personal Boat daily launch fee of $6 ( jon boat/
gheenoe) & $3 (canoe/kayak) are available from the Ranger Station. Annual Pass will be
available to purchase in December for the 2015 year. Right in time for the Holidays! All
Fees are collected at Ranger Station. Motored watercraft must be electric, gasoline
motors not permitted on the lake.

Visitor’s Center is Moving!
SPRING 2015 will see the Gloucester
County Visitors Center relocate from the
1896 Roane Building to the renovated
1956 Annex Building. Plans for the new
Visitors Center include ADA handicap
access, expanded display and exhibit
Over the summer, Whitley’s employees
documented over 2,000 customers checked
out the satellite County Tourist Information
displays in their retail store.
The holiday season is in full swing with festive
new holiday lamp post banners courtesy of
a partnership between the County, the Cook
Foundation and Main Street Preservation
Trust. Attractive garlands and LED lights
by the Walter Reed and Gloucester Garden
Clubs. This year the Holiday Parade will be
Saturday December 6th at 2:00 pm. The Main
Street Business Open House, Tree Lighting,
and kids visiting Santa will happen Sunday
December 7th. Gloucester Arts on Main
Street will be assisting kids with making their
personalized cards and ornaments.

will have dedicated use for Gloucester

This program is ideal for those in the restaurant industry. Gloucester County
code requires one full-time staff person per establishment be certified. Course
will cover contamination, food borne illnesses, food storage, food preparation,

You will see Quilts from across the country, from other countries,
from Virginia and from the Middle Peninsula at the Mid Atlantic Quilt
Festival. The art of quilting is alive and well and this show features all

machine, cotton, wool, embroidery, painting, appliqué and everything
