Welcome
The items in this sale had to be collected from three different sites to get
it all together. There’s an abundance of just about everything: modern
artworks (many of them large), an amazing black lacquer grand piano,
an incredibly long black leather sectional, several black leather chairs,
office furniture (including chairs and desks), a flat screen TV, beautiful
vases and decorative items, and even a selection of books autographed
by the authors.
You name it, you’ll find it here.
At one time, our clients were deeply involved in collecting Early
Canadian pine wood antiques. The majority are from the east, with some
pieces not often seen in stores today. The pine is shown in our photo
gallery, some of them still wrapped up from storage. Important to note:
these antiques have been priced to sell, and these prices are below market value.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS


Grand piano, black lacquer, made by Young & Chang. Has been properly tuned and locked when moved. Serial number
G 026022.
Mandolin, dated 1967, made by Merrill.
ANTIQUE FURNITURE
Chairs
 Antique rocker, spindle-back, painted black.
 Primitive child’s chair (highchair height – no tray), rush seat.
 Milking stool, very thick seat, pine wood primitive style. One of a kind.
 Arrow-back chairs (several), 1850-1870.
 Selection of chicken coop chairs, pinewood, eastern Ontario.
 Windsor chairs (2), oak wood, 15-spindle back, horseshoe-shaped top rail (view in photo gallery with dust still on them!).
Tables
 Pine parlor table, lathe-turned legs, ending in wooden ball feet, and lower display shelf.
 Side tables (2 different), ornate pierced legs on central column (somewhat Eastlake in style).
 English butler’s table (pre-1900).
 Farm table (rectangular), 2-plank, early Canadian (Ontario), as is condition.
Stands
 Dressing stand, unusual style, with attached jewel boxes either side of a tilting cathedral top mirror. We’ve never seen
one quite like this. From eastern Ontario c1860-1880.
 Moustache stand, round top mirror with implement shelf below, balanced on tripod base.
 Toiletry stand (Udell’s), date June 23, 1891. Very unusual and very rare, with multiple, pierced brass triple hooks for
coats or hats, and a spool-turned shaft on tripod base.
 Washstand for large bowl, lower pullout drawer, bowl recesses into top, as is.
Windows & Wall Sconces
 Wall sconce with molded edging (bracket shelves), dentil trim, natural colour (1870, Quebec City).
 Wall sconce with molded edges, painted black, originally from Ontario.
 Wall sconces (2) for candles from St. Thomas church in Hudson, Quebec. Hand-made, some original paint visible.

Mirror, in original oak wood window frame, from the Bordeaux Jail (18” x 29”), 6 panels.
Window with leaded and beveled glass, amethyst corners, in original frames (39” x 28”) (44” x 24 ½” with no purple corners).
 Window, pine frame, 8 glass panels with beveled edges (22” x 24”).
 Window, round-topped, antique pine frame (from Bordeaux Jail), with new stained glass floral panels (34 ½” x 12 ½”).
These windows are becoming increasingly hard to find, and are highly prized, as the cost of new ones are becoming prohibitive.
Chests & Boxes
 Chest, tall, 5-drawer. Note dovetailed ends, original escutcheons, and painted drawer pulls. Dates to the late 1800s from
Eastern Ontario. The only dresser you need in the room.
 Family chest / document box (dovetailed), early 1800s, likely one of a kind. It has been slightly repaired.
 Blanket box, dome-topped, pine wood, eastern Ontario, late 1800s.
 Medicine chest, pinewood (small size, quite rare).
Miscellaneous
 Dresser-top with tilting mirror, very ornate, light pine wood, storage either side, serpentine design and top pediment (late
Victorian).
 Gas fireplace shell (decorative), early 1900s.
 Jenny lynn spool bed (1870-1890), double size (includes modern pillow-top mattress and box spring).
 Linen press / wardrobe (very large size), double door, double upper cupboard, with 2 massive lower drawers. Added shelving on left side. Top measures 60” across, overall height is 72 ½”, 51” through the middle, and 18 ½” deep.
 Mantle clock, early Canadian, pinewood, with tall center spire and finials right and left. Reverse painted oval cameo picture
(a child with chickens)—some adjustment will be needed.
 Handmade “witches” broom.
 Pool cue holder, metal, interesting style.
 Quilt rack, Victorian, made of pine (for holding extra blankets by the bed).
 Wall shelves, small size, made of pinewood, 3 interior shelves, slat back, c1870.
LIVING ROOM FURNITURE

Armchairs, very modern, square, chrome and black leather. Herman Miller reproductions – very high quality. Le Corbusier
LC2 sofa armchairs. The original was called the petite lounge chair, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier. External stainless
steel frame and sumptuous cushions finished with Italian leather, over premium high-density foam, wrapped in a frame of
circular tube stainless steel (4).

high x 55” wide x 15” deep).
Ottomans (2), black “leather,” cube shape.
Custom-made kidney shaped table, approximate size at widest point is . Resting on 3 ball feet. This was especially commissioned from an architect here in Calgary.

OFFICE FURNITURE




Eames ES104 lobby chair, black leather with stainless steel frame, designed in 1960 (this is an original). 3 individual upholstered leather cushions and armrests that provide maximum comfort and back support; the base is a five-star caster swivel,
with height adjustment and adjustable die cast aluminum frame. Originally offered with a 30-year guarantee, this is definitely
an investment piece of furniture. Current new price out of England is 4888 pounds. The lowest price we’ve seen (for a similar chair) is $4000 pounds.
Very large executive desk, with multiple sections, in birch colour. This requires a large office.
Small faux birch Ikea computer desk.
3 good quality black office chairs (new cost of each was over $300).
