I hope every one had a great September. Those of you
who could not make it to the PHCoT first annual murder mystery, missed a truly wonderful evening of pirate intrigue and foul play. A huge shout out to our
Vice President Cappy Harrell who, aided by Capt’n
Andy, spent countless hours writing out all the characters and their parts. The murderer amongst us was
none other than our very own Herb “walk the plank”
This time of year is a very busy one for our club. We are collecting un
wrapped non violent toys for the USMC annual ”Toys For Tots” drive. We are
collecting toys at the November and December meeting. Please Please support
this and give a child a Christmas who otherwise may not get one, any questions
can be directed to Kathy Hallowes aka “the Kracken.”
Tuesday, December 9th sees Peter Mayer bringing the “Stars and Promises
2014” to Virginia Beach courtesy of a lot of hard work By Rick Spink and Andy
Harrell. The PHCoT Is a proud sponsor of this event and this has afforded us
the opportunity as sponsors to have club members purchase reserved preferred
seating at a discounted rate. Please see Rick tonight if you are interested in
purchasing tickets as this is a limited time offer.
Friday, December 12th is the date for the club’s Christmas party. This will
be at the AJ Gators Centerville location. The club will provide an assortment of
heavy hors d’oeuvres and there will be door prizes, and entertainment. Start
time is 7:30 pm. This event requires a commitment fee of $10 per club member
which will be returned to you at the door when you arrive. Club members are
welcome to bring one guest per member for a non refundable fee of $10
Jumping ahead to February we have the polar plunge taking place at the
ocean front, Jen Banks, Tom Gorman and Herb “the Chippen Whale”
Holzheter are co-chairing this event. For information see one of the above.
That same weekend is the PHCoT Annual Charity Beach Ball to benefit the
Alzheimer’s Association of South Eastern Virginia. This is a truly wonderful
event. If you have never attended one please put this date on your calendar: Feb
6-8 2015.
Thanks for supporting the club with all your hard work and donations. As a
club we truly make a difference in our community. Remember this is your club
and is what you make it.
Phins Up, Graham Hallowes, Prime Minister
The Board of Directors Meeting Minutes, Treasurer's Reports, and Parrot Point list are
available for review at the Secretary's table at each general meeting.
