for Sea salt, medicinal herbs and fruits Lollyroll is a salt roll created to satisfy the nutritional and mineral needs of horses. It is both salty and sweet, because it contains sea salt and pieces of fruit. The flowers and leaves of medicinal plants give their active ingredients to the salt roll. Strawberries, Carob, Mallow Apples and Chamomile 2 Its composition derives from extensive research on the diet of riding horses, sport horses, Western riding horses, trotters and race horses fed essentially with cereals and hay, and observing a general deficiency of the most common minerals. Lollyroll contains macro and micro elements to satisfy the mineral deficiencies of horses; medicinal plants’ leaves and flowers, and pieces of fruit, to guarantee a balanced intake of minerals and natural active ingredients on a daily basis, when the horse licks his roll. MINERAL MACRO-ELEMENTS: SODIUM MAGNESIUM POTASSIUM MINERAL MICRO-ELEMENTS: ZINC, SELENIUM, IRON, COPPER AND MANGANESE Carrot, Marigold and Chard Anise, Fennel, Chicory and Lemon Balm 3 4 5 The “White Gold” Unrefined sea salt from the crystalline waters of Southern Italy. According to the Laboratory of Chemical analysis of Nantes (France), unrefined salt contains at least 70 of the 84 substances that are present in sea water. In addition to sodium and chloride, sea salt contains sulphates, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, manganese, iodine, zinc, fluoride, silver, boron, silicon and copper. The story of this precious White Gold, the Trapani salt, started about 3000 years BC during the Phoenician era. In the first millennium BC, the Phoenicians probably settled along the Sicilian coast and created the first salt marshes. The clear water of the sea, the sun, the wind, the hot weather were and are the essential elements to obtain this finest-quality sea salt. Phoenicians traded the sea salt in the whole Mediterranean basin; it was used to preserve meat and fish. Today this salt is still produced just like in the past: the sea water runs into the basins, the water evaporates and the salt settles on the bottom of the basins, thus creating the pure and white crystals. The salt marshes are located in pristine areas. The salt marsh of Margherita di Savoia is located along the coast of Northern Puglia. 6 7 Medicinal plants Grown chemically free in AZIENDA AGRICOLA OFFICINALIS. Hay and alfalfa are rich in calcium and cereals are rich in phosphorus, but they contain little potassium, sodium and magnesium. Potassium, sodium and magnesium are essential for the horses’ optimum hydration. Almost all commercial feed for horses are well integrated in micro and macro elements, but generally have a limited quantity of potassium. The deficiency of one of these elements leads to dehydration, fatigue and lack of energy. LOLLYROLL contains Sodium, Magnesium and Potassium, and micro elements that are present in sea salt. 70 to 80 grams of Lollyroll are sufficient to satisfy the daily nutritional needs of a horse. LOLLYROLL IS A GIFT OF NATURE Use and dosage: Leave the salt roller with the horse for self-regulation. The maximum daily amount for a horse should be 100 grams per day. It is important to place the salt roller at the horse’s disposal in the turnout or in the stable for any future needs. If the horse licks Lollyroll quickly: The lack of salt minerals or active ingredients is important, so the horse wants to intake them rapidly. If the horse bites Lollyroll: The horse is very stressed. It is recommended to choose another box stall and to turn the horse out a bit every day. 13 The flower The flower is the salt-lick holder. It may be hung with two ropes and also become a toy for the horse. It may also be affixed with screws in the box stall. When hanging the flower, it is very important to place it in an ideal position for the horse so that he cannot hurt himself while playing.
