THEFT FROM VEHICLE: (Rancocas Pointe) The owner of a disabled vehicle parked on
Sternlight Drive reported the theft of license plates from the vehicle between September 7th and
November 6th.
THEFT: An employee of the Mount Laurel Library on Walt Whitman Avenue reported the
theft of $1,185.00 in cash from a library office. The incident occurred between 9:00 pm October
30th and 2:00 pm November 1st. There was no sign of forced entry.
ARREST (Burglary/Theft): Mount Laurel Police arrested Tariq R. Hicks, age 35, of Rochester,
NY, and Michael E. Owens, age 28, of Rochester, NY on November 5th for burglary and theft.
The two were arrested by police in Rochester, NY and extradited to Burlington County as a
result of arrest warrants issued by the Mount Laurel Police. The two men were part of a group
involved in a smash and grab burglary and theft that occurred at the Verizon store on Route 73
on October 30, 2013. The group stole over $75,000.00 worth of cell phones during the burglary.
A third suspect, Ricardo L. Oliver, age 25, of Rochester, NY was arrested by Mount Laurel
Police on the night of the crime in 2013. Hicks and Owens were committed to the Burlington
County Jail in lieu of $75,000.00 bail each.
ARREST (Burglary/Theft): Mount Laurel Police responded to the unit block of Sandhurst
Drive on November 6th at 5:00 am after a resident reported a suspicious person in the area. An
officer located Robert J. Cornaglia, age 45, of South Clarion Street, Philadelphia, as he was
trying to get into his own vehicle. An investigation revealed that Cornaglia was in possession of
property stolen from a vehicle on Wembley Drive. He was arrested and charged with burglary
and theft. Further investigation revealed that Cornaglia was responsible for several thefts from
vehicles in the area on that evening and on previous dates. Detectives from The Mount Laurel
Police Department are working with local police departments to determine if Cornaglia is
responsible for crimes in their jurisdictions. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail in
lieu of $2,500.00 bail. Officer L. Hann was the arresting officer.

ARREST (Credit Card Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Receiving Stolen Property)
On November 6th at approximately 6:00 pm the Mount Laurel Police were notified by an alert
loss prevention officer from Target on Centerton Road that two men suspected in previous credit
card frauds were in the store. The two suspects were in the process of committing additional
credit card fraud. As the suspects were leaving the store they were stopped by responding Mount
Laurel Police Officers. Both men were taken into custody. The investigation revealed that the
two were in possession of credit cards that had been reported stolen in Cherry Hill just hours
earlier. They used the stolen cards at Target to purchase merchandise totaling $780.00. The two
have been connected to multiple thefts from vehicles and credit card frauds in Mount
Laurel. Many of the thefts were from vehicles parked in parking lots of gyms where credit cards
were stolen and then used to make fraudulent purchases. Both men were charged with credit card
fraud, forgery, hindering, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property. They
were committed to the Burlington County Jail on $20,000.00 bail each. The Mount Laurel
Police are working with local police departments to determine if the two are responsible for
similar crimes in their jurisdictions. Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation
progresses. The arrested men were identified as:
Rodney Desvarieux, age 29, Brooklyn, NY
Andrew W. Williams, age 35, Long Island, NY
All persons are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
