7 NOVEMBER 2014 Francis Douglas Memorial College ! Important Dates ! ! Monday 10 November NCEA Exams begin ! Year 9 and 10 exams also begin Ma>hew Codd 2015 Dux From the Principal The senior students who have left the secondary education system, including those who have secured employment during the year and our CPP students, have all left school on good terms. Our Year 13 graduates finished their time with a moving Mass, a crowd-pleasing Prizegiving and a graduation dine and dance evening that all made me thoroughly proud of them. It is also heartening that there was no major afterparty that could have placed students in jeopardy. Our students are taking their NCEA external exams very seriously which is most pleasing. ! I congratulate Matthew Codd who is our Dux for 2014. He is the son of Helen and Alastair Codd from New Plymouth. Logan Clark, son of Diane Clarke from Stratford is our Proxime Accessit. The following students will have the privilege of being school leaders to their peers next year. Based on our tradition, I know they will work hard to fulfill the potentials of the mantles given to them: Prefects are: Kurt Biesiek,Vanshay Bindra, Stephen Gibson, Jack Ternouth, Logan Walsh and Bailey Wisnewski House Captains are: Benildus – Connor Lindsay, La Salle – Cole Hareb, Loreto – Shaun Palmer, Solomon – Steven Snoxell. Culture Captain: Patrick Fisher-Evans, Sport Captain: Oliver Polson Lasallian Student Captain: Michael Wells Deputy Head Boy: Tyler Paterson Head Boy: Louis Poole. Louis and Michael are fortunate in that they will be sent to Australia along with Head Boarder, Steven Snoxell, for a week in January for deeper training in what it means to be a leader in a Lasallian school. ! St John Baptist de La Salle – Pray for us Live Jesus in our hearts – forever Martin Chamberlain - Principal! !! !!
