Founded in 1980, THE MORMON CHOIR OF WASHINGTON DC is composed of over 80
singers selected by audition from congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The choir’s mission is to worship God through music, testify of Him and His work, and support the
Christian outreach efforts of the Church. The choir’s repertoire includes a wide variety of secular and sacred music. The Mormon Choir has performed at the White
House, Strathmore Music Center, Fort McHenry, Constitution Hall, Washington Monument, Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, Navy Memorial, Andrews
AFB, and many other venues. The group helps inaugurate the annual Christmas Festival of Lights at the Washington DC Temple Visitors’ Center. Recently the choir
joined with the Alfred Street Baptist Church Senior Choir to commemorate Black History Month. It also participates in the annual music festival sponsored by the Interfaith
Council of Washington DC. The choir is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
