Neurovascular Remodeling Device
Solitaire™ AB Neurovascular Remodeling Device
The difference is in the design
Solitaire™ AB device is the only self-expanding2 stent with a unique design to bridge the neck
of aneurysms that can be completely retrieved, even when fully deployed for unmatched
procedural control.1
The Solitaire™ AB neurovascular remodeling device, with the unique Parametric™ technology,
is the adequate solution for assisting coiling procedures by acting as a physical barrier in wideneck and blister aneurysms to trap coils and prevent coil herniation into the parent artery.
Parametric™ technology
The proprietary technology of the Solitaire™ AB neurovascular remodeling device, featuring open
slit overlapping design and stable cells structure, provides specific clinical advantages, combining
the benefits of closed cells devices without compromising flexibility and delivery typical of open
cell design devices.3

Ease in Delivery
Open Slit, Closed Stable Cell
• Designed for single-operator delivery and deployment for easy use
• Delivery through a standard 0.021’’ or 0.027’’ ID micro catheter on a 0.016’’ pushwire, to behave just as a coil
• Designed for optimal vessel conformability and navigation, to easily adapt to tortuous path of vessels
Accuracy and Deployment Control
• Solitaire™ AB remodeling device allows multiple retrievals, even after full deployment adjustment and superior placement1
• Features electrolytic detachment for control of detachment after deployment. Solitaire™AB remodeling device can be detached
before or after coil embolization1
• When not detached, Solitaire™ AB remodeling device can be held or placed without risk of migration of the stent during coil
placement or balloon use1
Optimized Coil Mass Support
• Designed for optimum scaffolding to prevent coil herniation into the parent vessel
•
•
•
•
•
Good deliverability and very low protrusion or kinking1
Excellent conformability and vessel wall apposition also in challenging anatomies1
Smooth deployment and retrievability even when fully deployed1
High cell deformation resistance, for optimal radial force and optimal coil mass support1
Stable geometry of cells for micro catheter and guidewire navigation1
Radiopaque Markers
The Solitaire™ AB neurovascular remodeling device, with its proximal and distal markers, allows a good visualization of the
device for a proper and precise delivery across the aneurysm neck, showing the exact position of the device.

References
1. IFU 70723-001 Rev. 06/13: The Solitaire™ AB neurovascular remodeling device is a self-expanding design that can be completely deployed and fully retrieved by a single operator. If not detached and angiographic monitoring reveals
undesirable positioning or entanglement, repositioning of the Solitaire™ AB neurovascular remodeling device is permissible two times.
2. Covidien owns the only electrolytic detachable AB stent on the market, which allows full deployment of the stent in the vessel. Mechanical detachment stents require a portion of the device to still remain in the microcatheter.
