Europaforum Hässleholm 2015
Europa har nått ett vägskäl angående välfärd och tillväxt. Ungdomsarbetslösheten är hög och det finns en risk att vi drabbas av
en ”lost generation”. Å andra sidan vill hundratusentals människor komma hit. För den som flyr krig, fattigdom och svält innebär
Europa en möjlighet till fred och utveckling. Det som Europa inte kan erbjuda är en gemensam strategi för mottagandet av
dessa människor. Denna fråga, liksom situationen i Grekland och konflikten mellan Ryssland och Ukraina, visar på behovet av
mötesplatser där alla, på lika villkor, kan diskutera Europas framtid. Europaforum Hässleholm är en sådan mötesplats.
För första gången genomförs Europaforum i slutet av augusti, vilket möjliggjort Malmö högskolas sommarkurs som är
förlagd till Hässleholm i anslutning till forumet. Forumet har även utökat kulturprogrammet väsentligt och kan i år erbjuda
såväl konserter som filmfestival och fotoutställningar. Europa är summan av dess olika kulturer och det vill vi återspegla.
Vi välkomnar alla hässleholmare och besökare till årets Europaforum, vi ser fram emot ert deltagande!
Europaforum Hässleholm 2015
Europe has reached a crossroads regarding wellfare and growth. Youth unemployment is high and there is a risk for a ”lost generation”. On the other hand, hundreds of thousands people are crossing the European borders. For those escaping war,
poverty and starvation, Europe is a haven of peace and prosperity. What Europe is lacking is a common approach on how to
take care of these people. This issue, along with the situation in Greece and the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, show the
need of meeting points where everyone on equal terms can discuss the future of Europe. Europaforum Hässleholm is one of
those meeting points. For the first time, Europaforum is arranged in the end of August, which has made the Malmö University
summer course in Hässleholm possible. This year we also present an extended culture programme which includes concerts,
film festival and photo exhibitions, events that reflect the diversity of cultures in Europe.
We welcome all Hässleholm citizens and visitors to Europaforum 2015, we are looking forward to your participation!

”The Nordic Model and Future European Challenges”

I år inleds Europaforum Hässleholm med högskolekursen ”The Nordic Model and Future European Challenges”. Kursen
arrangeras av Malmö högskola och äger rum i Hässleholm med start den 17 augusti. Målsättningen är att kursen skall
vara ett stående inslag under Europaforum Hässleholm.

This year the university course ”The Nordic Model and Future European Challenges” marks the start of Europaforum. The course
is organized by Malmö University and is taking place in Hässleholm, starting August 17th. The ambition is to make the course a
