How much energy can I save by
replacing my current T8 with an
F32T8/WM?
Example: Class A office space
• 500,000 square feet in downtown center with
5000 (3-lamp) fixtures with typical N-ballasts
• 8¢ kWh
• 4500 operating hours/year
Strategy:
Relamp T8 fixtures with Extra Life
(XL) T8/WM lamp
Calculation: 5000 3-lamp fixtures x $2.16
(4500 hours at $0.08)
$10,800 energy saved annually
$69,600 energy saved over lamp life (29,000 hours)

What do you get with the GE F28
UltraMax System?
Multi-Voltage ballast – 120V to 277V all in
one ballast.
Anti-arc rating UL type CC – eliminates
damaging effects arcing can have on
lamps, ballast and sockets.
Xtreme efficiency – up to 44% energy
savings when you move from a T12 to
the F28 UltraMax System.
How much energy can I save by retrofitting
from T12 to an F28T8 UltraMax System?
Example: Retailer
• 100 stores with 400 4-lamp fixtures/store
• 10¢ kWh
• 8,760 operating hours/year
Strategy: Retrofit T12/WM fixtures with T8 UltraMax System
Calculation: 100 stores x 400 4-lamp fixtures x $53.44 (8,760 hours@$.10)
$2,137,600 energy saved annually
$5,856,000 energy saved over lamp life (24,000 hrs.)

LAMP, BALLAST & FIXTURE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION
The GE Ultra F32T8 High Lumen can save you energy as well as installation and maintenance
costs in new construction.
What’s my ceiling layout? Which fixture should I use? What lamp and ballast combination is right for me? By making the
right choice you can save energy and reduce your investment and maintenance costs. The GE F32T8 High Lumen lamp has
10% more lumens vs. the standard T8 (3100 vs. 2800). By increasing the ballast factor or choosing a more efficient fixture,
you could remove one lamp per fixture in your new installation. That’s 32 watts per fixture. Another way that GE is helping
you save energy with ULTRA.

How much energy can I save by
using a 3-lamp F32T8 (N) High Lumen
instead of a 4-Lamp F32T8 (L) in my
new facility?
Example: High School classrooms
• 1500 fixtures
• 8¢ kWh
• 4,500 operating hours/year
Strategy:
Reduce energy costs by choosing
a High Lumen 3-lamp fixture vs.
a standard 4-lamp F32T8
Calculation: 1500 x 3-lamps x $5.40 (4500hrs@$.08)
6% less lumens than an F32T8 (L-ballast) (8091 vs. 8624)
$8,100 energy saved annually
$52,200 energy saved over lamp life (29,000 hours)
Additional savings can be achieved through a reduction of fixtures, fewer lamps purchased or reductions in disposal costs.

Imagine energy and Ecolux®
at work in one family of
fluorescent lamps.
At GE we pride ourselves on listening to
our customers. You asked for it...and
now we have it...ULTRA...a family of
energy efficient products for all of your
lighting needs.
Whether you need to replace a lamp,
retrofit a lamp and ballast, or create a
completely new lamp, ballast and fixture
solution for your new construction, GE
ULTRA is the answer. Not only did we make
ULTRA energy efficient, but we coupled
them with two other GE technologies,
Starcoat® and Ecolux®. Starcoat provides
excellent color rendering and very high
lumen maintenance. Ecolux exceeds the
EPA’s stringent Toxicity Characteristic
Leaching Procedure (TCLP). Energy savings.
Starcoat. Ecolux.
Three technologies...three answers to
our customers lighting needs, all in one
family of lamps. You asked for it and GE
listened, the GE ULTRA Linear Fluorescents.
Imagination at work...at GE Lighting.
GE introduced the first linear fluorescent in 1939. GE introduced the first energy saving linear fluorescent in 1973. GE introduced
the first linear fluorescent electronic system in 1987. So, the ULTRA Linear Fluorescent family had to come from GE Lighting.
