So exactly what does the law and Board rule require of Georgia PEs? This session will take a brisk walk through the obligations and responsibilities of practicing engineering - and the liabilities if you do not do so ethically. If you have not read relevant state law and rule recently (or ever), this is a session you will want to attend. 1-B Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP) Dissolved Oxygen Mitigation Presenter: AMEC (1 PDH) 1-C BIM – Predict, Simulate & Analyze…Autodesk InfraWorks and Transportation Planning for Civil Engineers (1 PDH) Presenter: Ken Driscol A new generation of AEC Professionals are leveraging the power of Building Information Modeling (BIM) early in the design phase for coordination, interferences and visualization. Civil Engineers are using tools for BIM to reduce errors and omissions, fast track project design and streamline documentation. This presentation is a live presentation in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk InfraWorks 360. 1-D Fundamentals of Railroad Engineering (1 PDH) Presenter: Crew Heimer - Antietam Economics Railroads are a new growth industry in the US. Deregulation in the 1980’s allowed costs to be squeezed out and rates to be lowered, and with the completion of the Interstate Highway network each year congestion and trucking costs are rising. Now the railroads are gaining freight market share faster than the truckers. Key lines are busier than ever before and at capacity, yet rail traffic is anticipated to nearly double in the next thirty years. Atlanta is at a crossroads of key Northeast-Southwest and MidwestFlorida routes and the railroads are both adding more tracks (lanes) just to handle existing rail traffic. High Performance Communication Skills for Professional 1-E LEED and the Built Environment (1 PDH) Presenter: Doug Weaver, P.E., LEED AP With the new standards that are being applied to building construction and the desire for sustainability the LEED process has come into prominence. There are many standards of sustainability but LEED is the leader and many standards reference the requiems to of LEED. Mr. Weaver will present on what LEED is and how it could affect future projects. 1-F The Value of LinkedIn: Its reflection on You and Your business (2 PDH) Presenter: Al Trembley The value of a business or individual is easily determined when measured digitally. It’s global, too! LinkedIn is arguably the most effective social media platform available to demonstrate your talent and work to the most important audience: your relationships. Come learn how to: •Attract Business Clients •Accelerate Go-To Market Opportunities •Generate New Leads & Fill the Pipeline •Shorter Sales Cycles •Larger Per-Deal Purchases •Longer Client Life-Cycles •Get Found, Get Deals •Create a Targeted Group / Online Communities •Maintain “Top of Mind Awareness” •Establish Cutting Edge Social Strategies TRACK 2 2-A Florida Rules & Laws (4 PDHs) Presenter: Ed Bayo, Attorney at Law - Mertzger, Grossman, Furlow, and Bayo, LLC (SunCam, Inc) Mr. Bayó is the foremost authority on the subject of Florida Laws & Rules. Ed served as the attorney for the board for 9-years,sitting at the right hand of the Board Chair and guiding the board through the finer points of the law and the board’s own rules. Ed’s keen understanding of the laws & rules for engineers has placed him among the most sought after defense attorneys for disciplinary cases heard by the FBPE. This video course is through SunCam, Inc. There is an extra $25 fee for processing exam. 2-B Basics of Forensic Engineering Presenter: Luther Cox, Jr., P.E. – LOC Engineering (2 PDHs) 2-C TBA Presenter: TBD (PDHs)
