WHY GIVE THANKS?
“Rejoice always.”
I Thessalonians 5:16
“Pray without ceasing.”
I Thessalonians 5:17
“In everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you.”
I Thessalonians 5:18
TEN REASONS TO GIVE
THANKS
1. It keeps us aware of
God’s presence.
2. It motivates us to look for
God’s purpose.
“Now, children,” said their
mother just before
Thanksgiving dinner, “tell
us something you’re
thankful for.” “I’m
thankful,” said her son
without hesitation, “that I’m
not a turkey!”
3. It helps us to submit to
God’s will for our life.
9. It energizes us.
4. It reminds us of our
dependence upon God.
10. It transforms our
anxiety into peace.
5. It develops a stronger
trust in God.
SO, WHY GIVE THANKS?
6. It is essential in order to
be able to rejoice.
I wish for all of you a
blessed and joyous
Thanksgiving Day! Keep
your hand in Jesus’ hand
and your eyes on the
Cross!
BECAUSE GIVING
THANKS TO GOD
IMPACTS EVERY AREA
OF YOUR LIFE!
7. It gives impact to our
Christian witness.
by Rev. Grant Parker
Brother Grant
8. It focuses our attention
on God rather than on the
circumstances.

Stewardship
The Internet provides us with
several definitions of stewardship,
such as, “Stewardship means the
management or care of something,
particularly the kind that works.” We
find that we are all stewards of
something, but can we say that all of
what we manage works?
Hugh Whelchel, an economic writer,
wrote an article published on the
Internet discussing “Four Principles
of Biblical Stewardship.” He
discusses the principles as, 1.
Ownership. The 24th Psalm begins
with, “The earth is the Lord’s, and
everything in it, the world, and all
who live in it.” 2. Responsibility.
We are called as God’s stewards to
manage that which belongs to God.
3. Accountability. We will all give
account to the rightful owner as to
how well we managed the things He
has entrusted to us. 4. Reward.
We all should long to hear the
Master say what He exclaims in
Matthew 25:21, “Well done, good
and faithful servant! You have been
faithful with a few things; I will put
you in change of many things.
Come and share your master’s
happiness!”
As we see how these principles are
expressed and used in our Bibles,
we see how important the subject
really becomes. Our whole lives
become a matter of how well we can
perform and how well we
understand what true ownership
really means. This produces
amazing results as we consider all
ranges of wealth from poor to
extremely rich. It seems that
the richer a person is, the
harder it is for him to
understand that wealth is not
independently attained.
Better stewardship begins
inside of all of us!

Boxes” in the Gathering Room. All types of
items are still needed to complete these
gifts of our love we will be sending to the
needy children of the world. We would like
to make these Shoe Boxes something that
will put a smile on a face and be
memorable. We encourage your family to
complete a box(es).
16th in order to get them
delivered to the local pick up
location.
Time is drawing near for us to complete our
Shoes Boxes for this year. We will need all
“bulk donations” by November 10th. On
that day, we will finish making the kits from
your donations. We will need all
completed kits by Sunday, November
