 Obtain an approved study plan from the Dean’s Office before
leaving for SEP
 Select alternative modules and be prepared for your study plan
to change after arriving at the host university
 If there is any change in your study plan, send your confirmed
modules to the Dean’s Office as soon as possible for approval
 Try to do your general electives modules or technical electives
modules while on exchange

 English speaking destinations
 Students from NUS may need to provide evidence of English
language proficiency using the GCE “O” or/and “A” level results,
IELTS, TOFEL or its equivalent
 Strictly NO overloading of module credits are allowed in partner
universities in UK and Ireland
• E.g. 60 credits per semester and 120 credits per year
 No guarantee that you will be able to secure the core modules which
you need
 Less scheduled class time
 Needs to spend more time on independent self learning

 Housing is not guaranteed housing but do try to apply as
early as possible before their housing application deadline
 Students studying in Ireland need to provide proof of
having insurance coverage. Please refer to individual host

card is €300 and must be paid by credit card, laser card or
bank transfer. This fee cannot be paid in cash.

 The nearest British Consulate is in Chiangmai and all ‘rejections’ are sent there
for further review. This process is extremely slow and there is nothing NUS or
you can do to speed up or help the process so get your application correct the
first time!
 For
visa applications there is a requirement for financial documentation. Read

or require a notarized birth certificate (in English!)
 PRC students will need to provide a birth certificate or “family book”,
