Multigraf Pile Feeder
Increase your productivity with a high-capacity pile feeder
when running large volumes of oversized and heavier stocks.
For shops that print long runs or multiple jobs using a handful
of oversized or heavier stocks, one way to increase productivity
is to reduce the time dedicated to keeping trays full. Graphic
arts shops and in-plants that predominantly run stocks that
are relatively heavy (200+ gsm) or oversized (larger than 20.5")
can take advantage of the higher capacity and ergonomic
convenience of a pile feeder. The pile feeder provides a single
tray with a 19.5" capacity, which, for example, is about 1,100
sheets of 18 point stock. This allows a Xerox® iGen 150 Press
to run over 20 minutes at 50 ppm without cycling down due to
an “out of paper” condition. To further increase productivity,
additional carts can be pre-loaded offline and rolled in when it’s
time to replenish a stock, taking under 2 minutes.
The DFA-enabled pile feeder from Multigraf enables enhanced
flexibility in feeding stocks. Media can be any sheet size and
range from 24 lb Bond to 24 point Board (90 to 480 gsm).
The pile feeder is attached to the left-most feeder module on
the Xerox® iGen4 Press or Xerox® iGen 150 Press. With the pile
feeder, customers still have full use of all trays in the feeder
module(s) and stock pulls can be made in any combination.
When the pile feeder is empty, the system will automatically
switch to a feeder module tray, which contains the same media,
for load-while-run efficiency.
Customers using the Thick Stock solution on the Xerox® iGen4
Press can use the pile feeder to feed large quantities of stocks
compared to the upper tray of the feeder module, which is
required for media greater than 18 point (350 gsm).
