The Justices have scrutinized all briefs, and counsel may assume that
the Court is familiar with the facts. Therefore, counsel is encouraged to
best use their time by restricting their arguments to matters of law.
* indicates appellant or moving party in cases where a motion is being
heard.
** indicates cross-appellant if applicable.
The following cases are scheduled with oral argument limited to 5 minutes per side
unless otherwise noted. In accordance with V.R.A.P. 33.1(b), parties may present oral
argument either in person or by video conference. A party intending to appear by
video must notify the docket clerk in writing no later than three business days
before the scheduled argument date.
Two cases are listed for each time slot. Counsel in both cases is directed to be
present at the listed starting time; the second argument will begin immediately after
the completion of the first.
All cases listed shall be heard by a panel of three justices unless otherwise noted.
The Court intends to issue entry orders disposing of these cases by the end of the
working day following the day of argument.
