COMPANY PROFILE
We provide innovative water moving equipment, designed and manufactured specifically to withstand the rigors
of the rugged environment in which they are used. Our mission: invent, make and deliver dependable water
handling equipment.
WATERAX, has its genesis in the Watson Jack & Co. Ltd., a time-honoured company that entered the fire control
industry in the 1920s. The company initially established itself as a manufacturer of a powerful 200 psi portable fire
pump called the WAJAX (a play on Watson Jack’s name). Our products have evolved through the decades thanks
to the collaboration of wildland firefighters, agencies, and governments dedicated to wildland/urban interface
fire control.
Best known for the MARK-3® and the BB-4®, benchmarks in high pressure portable centrifugal pumps, WATERAX
also manufacture control panels, OEM components, backpacks, and other related water handling products. The return
to our roots as a manufacturer is driving a renewed emphasis on development of innovative portable pump products
and water handling systems. Our commitment to exceptional customer service and rugged dependable products
continues to fuel our growth towards market leadership in wildland/urban interface water handling products.

COMPANY HISTORY

1925
WATERAX can trace its line straight back to 1925, in Montreal, Quebec when Watson
Jack & Co. began manufacturing a powerful, 200 psi portable fire pump called the
WAJAX.
1959
The company prospered and it acquired a controling interest in F.H. Hopkins in 1951.
Watson Jack & Co. and its F.H. Hopkins subsidiary were purchased by B.J. Coghlin Co. Ltd.
in 1954 and were then merged into a single subsidiary, Watson Jack Hopkins Ltd. In 1959,
Watson Jack Hopkins Ltd was renamed WAJAX Equipment Ltd.
1964
In 1964, Pacific Marine’s fire division was acquired by WAJAX Ltd. and its name was
changed to Pacific Pumpers, Inc This union solidified WAJAX Ltd. as the North
American leader in manufacturing forest fire protection products. That same year,
WAJAX Ltd. introduced its MARK-3® that rapidly became the standard wildland fire
pump adopted by forestry agencies around the world.
1983
In the early 80’s Pacific Pumpers’ name was changed to Wajax-Pacific Fire Equipment
Inc and expanded into an industry-leading manufacturer of firefighting equipment for the
forestry, wildland, industrial and marine markets, servicing the United States. In 1983, WAJAX
Ltd created the Fire Control Division comprising of Wajax-Pacific Fire Equipment Inc
and WAJAX Manufacturing.
1995
A newly formed company, called the Wildfire Group, purchased the Fire Control
Division from WAJAX Ltd.
2001
In 2001, Ansul Canada Ltd, a Canadian division of Tyco acquired Wildfire Group.
2010
Wildfire Group is acquired via a management buy-out by its current owners and is
renamed Wildfire Environmental Inc.
2012
Company re-focuses on product development and manufacturing of its water handling
products under the WATERAX brand.
2013
WATERAX head office moves to a new facility in Montreal and acquires the IP and
manufacturing rights of the ROTAX 185cc engine powering its iconic MARK-3®. WATERAX
introduces 2 new pump series namely, the B2X and VERSAX Series.
2014
WATERAX introduces a BB-4 / B2X Diesel offering to its product portfolio and adds an
XCP Series of control panels featuring its FastWireTM plug-and-play connectors.

Innovative Quick Release Clamp
WATERAX’s innovative pump end quick release clamp provides
ease of maintenance without having to disassemble the complete
unit, thus significantly reducing equipment downtime. In the heat of
the action, there are things that simply can’t wait.
Convenient 2-in-1 System
WATERAX’s 2-in-1 system allows interchanging pump-ends
in the field. The WATERAX pump platform is compatible
with either a high-pressure or a mid-range pump end. Thus, it
provides users with maximal performance flexibility at the lowest
possible cost.

THE WATERAX PLATFORM
WATERAX offers of a complete line of high performance pump ends suited to meet the most difficult water handling
requirements. WATERAX Platform is composed of a low maintenance drive assembly, a Mid-Range pump end and
three High Pressure pump ends. The unique feature of this platform is its quick release clamp system that allows one
to hook up any WATERAX pump end to its drive assembly. It also allows one to detach and interchange pump ends
almost instantly. This greatly reduces equipment downtime while providing more flexibility in terms of performance,
resulting in significant cost savings.
These components are ideal for original equipment manufacturers looking to adapt high quality pump ends to their
respective fire apparatus.
High-Pressure Pump Ends
The WATERAX High Pressure centrifugal pump ends are
offered in 4-stage, 3-stage, and 2-stage configurations.
They deliver pressure up to 440PSI (30.3 BAR) and flows
reaching 106 GPM (1136 L/min) and are ideal pump ends
for moving water over long distance and high elevation.
18-16S / 3-Stage
In addition, all these pump ends have interchangeable
spare parts. This helps keep inventory levels and costs
low while maximizing the utility and versatility of each
stored part. The quality, reliability and durability of these
pump ends are what makes them the most trusted in the
fire industry.

Mid-Range Pump End
The WATERAX B2XTM is a Mid-Range 2-stage centrifugal pump end that delivers pressure
up to 200 PSI (13.8 BAR) and flows reaching 300 US GPM (1136 L/min). A strong show of
pressure and volume it is the ideal pump end for dual attack lines dedicated to wildland &
urban interface operations.
It is also perfect for high volume remote watering, booster line applications, brush trucks,
slip-on units and for uphill tandem operations. The suction and discharge use a combination
of Victaulic and national pipe threads to facilitate its plumbing.
Drive Assembly
WATERAX offers an outstanding drive assembly that boosts the performance of pump
ends. The drive assembly increases the speed of pump revolutions resulting in increased
pressure and volume. The drive assembly is used with the WATERAX quick release clamp
to enable the coupling of the drive assembly to the desired pump end.

The MARK-3® is the flagship pump of the WATERAX line. It
is driven by a powerful, yet lightweight, 2-stroke engine and is
ideal when high pressures over long distances are required while
maintaining one person portability.
The BB-4® Series is a full line of high pressure centrifugal pumps that
has been used by forest agencies for over 40 years. It has become the
weapon of choice in wildland operations. The BB-4 pairs a 4-stage
centrifugal pump-end with a choice of Briggs & Stratton 18HP and
23HP or Honda 21HP.
The BB-4® Diesel is used by forest agencies for Type 6 brush
trucks. The BB-4® Diesel comes in a horizontal pump drive mount
as standard with a vertical drive mount optional. It is powered by
the Kubota D902 Super Mini-Series 3-cylinder liquid cooled diesel
engine.
B2X
TM
SERIES
The B2XTM Series is the new Mid-Range pump platform dedicated
to the wildland & urban interface operations. A strong show of both
pressure and volume it is idea for dual attack lines operations, high
volume remote water transfer and structural firefighting. The B2XTM
pairs a 2-stage centrifugal pump-end with a choice of Briggs &
Stratton 18HP and 23HP or Honda 21HP.
The B2XTM Diesel pump delivers the best performance of its class
with minimal operating costs. The B2XTM Diesel comes in a horizontal
pump drive mount as standard with a vertical drive mount optional.

The STRIKERTM series is powered by reliable, fuel-efficient, and
easy-to-use 4-stroke Honda engines paired to a three or two stage
high performance pump end. Applications include cabin protection,
skid units, and snow-making.

VERSAX
The VERSAX® is a versatile, rugged, and economical twin impeller
self-priming pump. This unit is driven by a 6HP or 9HP Honda engine.
Their compact design makes them ideal for a variety of applications
such as firefighting, tank filling, water transfers and ATV slip-ons.
MINISTRIKER
The MINI-STRIKER® pump pairs a reliable single stage pump end
with the Honda 4-stroke 2.5 HP engine. Extremely portable and
lightweight - under 20 pounds - this tiny powerhouse performs well
when used by itself or in tandem with other pumps, and is a very
popular choice for entry level slip-on applications.

with a powerful Kubota D902-E4B 3-Cylinder Fuel Injected Liquid Cooled 25 HP Diesel
Engine to achieve pressures of up to 395 PSI (27.2 bar) and flow rates reaching 106 GPM
(401 L/Min). Strong enough to operate as a source pump for tandem and parallel pumping,
it is also optimal for direct attack firefighting, remote watering, sprinkler systems, and is a
popular choice for slip-on units.
The WATERAX quick release clamp provided on the BB-4® pump lets you replace
a damaged pump end in the field with minimal equipment downtime. The 4-stage pump
end on the BB-4® is identical to the pump end on the MARK-3® unit, which greatly

THE WATERAX ENGINEERING TEAM
Frederic Lefrancois
VP of Product Development
VP of Product Development at WATERAX, Frederic is leading the R&D efforts to develop products that will
move water for generations. Engineer by trade, he has led multidisciplinary teams and successfully managed
ambitious projects for more than 15 years.
The DNA of the WATERAX engineering team is the result of a synergy between three key components
namely People, Process & Technology.
People
At WATERAX we believe that winning teams are composed of skilled complementary individuals who share a common goal. It also requires
a good dosage of experience, drive and passion. Our core expertise includes mechanical, hydraulic and industrial design and it is combined with
specialities in powertrain, software & electronics. Our goal is to satisfy customer needs with great products and by offering them premier customer
support.
Process
We have integrated a Stage-GateTM product development process that guides us
from conception to production in the most efficient manner. Our daily meeting,
inspired by Agile development philosophy, allows us to keep our priorities well
aligned and to ensure an effective communication within the team. We also believe
in Value Engineering as it helps us offer the best value products to our customers.
Technology
All our engineers are proficient with 3D modeling and SolidworksTM. We use
computer aided design (CAD), and rapid prototyping to accelerate our development
cycles. In 2013, we went live with a new Microsoft Dynamics Entreprise Resource
Planning system that greatly improves our organizational efficiency.
Finally, the move to our new facility was the perfect opportunity to modernize our
R&D equipment and we have invested in a state of the art pump test room and an
R&D lab that significantly enhance our development capabilities.
With our strong engineering team and our new manufacturing facility, we are looking forward to supporting your current and future pump needs.

Jeff Sadler, Chief Product Engineer
Jeff joined WATERAX as Chief Product Engineer and he is leading our pump development initiatives. He
brings with him over 20 years of industry experience. Before joining the organization, Jeff spent the last
15 years at Hale Products Inc. and spent another 5 years prior with National Foam (Fire Truck Division).
All OEM’s who have worked with Jeff in the past know that he delivers first class customer support. His drive
and know-how have led to successful project implementations with truck OEM’s, fire departments, and fire
boat manufacturers.
Norith Tan, Lead Product Engineer
Norith has been with the company since 2005 and possesses an in-depth knowledge of every WATERAX
product. As a mechanical engineer, he has developed a solid expertise in design, combustion engines, powertrain,
and fluid dynamics. Norith’s passion is to create solutions to the real world challenges that firefighters face
every day and to delight them with exceptional products.
Rabih Bouyakdan, Product Engineer
Rabih has been with the team since 2012 and brings mechanical design expertise. As a mechanical engineer he
is responsible for the development of the WATERAX components used by OEM’s for their vehicle mounted
applications. Rabih is continuously looking for new ways to improve WATERAX design with the greatest and
latest SolidworksTM has to offer.
Jonathan Bousquet, Production Engineer
Jonathan joined the WATERAX team in 2010. As a mechanical engineer he is responsible for establishing
and improving our manufacturing and assembly processes. In short, he is the bridge between the development
team and the production. He ensures that we are manufacturing at the right cost and that our products meet
or exceed our stringent quality standards.
Steve Bisson, Production Manager
Steve has been with the company since 1994. He has an Aerospace machining degree and he is familiar
with Six SigmaTM and Lean ManufacturingTM methodologies. As Production Manager, he is responsible for the
planning and the production of all WATERAX products. With a solid background in metrology he is also in
charge of our quality control.

Marcello Iacovella
VP of Sales and Business Development
Marcello joined the Company under WAJAX Manufacturing in 1995 and pursued a strategic roadmap
within the organization which led him to grow on the sales and marketing side of the business. Being
responsible for all sales and business development, including international, Marcello’s aim is to ensure
that customer needs are matched with targeted WATERAX solutions.
Chris Efta, National Sales Manager
Chris joined the WATERAX team as our USA National Sales Manager bringing with him the keys to
success within the fire industry. With over a decade of regional and professional sales experience, he
will be at the helm of the USA WATERAX sales team charting a course to deliver wide-ranging water
handling solutions. From early on, Chris’s passion has been and always will be the fire industry. Those who
worked with him can easily say his passion to provide excellent service is second to none.
Marvin Johns, Regional Sales Manager
Marvin is our South Central USA Regional Sales Manager, focusing WATERAX OEM and Dealers
accounts. He holds an Engineering and Business degree from Oklahoma State University. Aside from
his proven track record in OEM sales, Marvin brings to WATERAX a wealth of knowledge in product
development. The OEMs and Dealers who have worked with Marvin know that he is committed to serving
the fire community with professionalism and great care.
Mario Janson, Regional Sales Manager
Mario is responsible for all WATERAX key accounts in Eastern Canada. Having spent 10 years in the
Royal Canadian Navy as a Marine Engineering Technician, Mario acquired expertise in many types of
systems from steam propulsion to gas turbine and all auxiliary including LP, HP air. Although his background
is outside the fire industry, he’s a natural when it comes to ‘moving water’.
Mike Guterson, Regional Sales Manager
Mike is a seasoned veteran of the WATERAX team having joined WAJAX in the mid -1970s. Based
in Edmonton, Alberta, Mike focuses on providing comprehensive water handling expertise to our North
Western Canadian customer base, including our Prairie Provinces. In addition to overseeing our branch
activities, over the years Mike has come to forge very strong relationships with our customers given his
dedication and passion servicing the fire and industrial community.

A. Warranty on Products Manufactured by WATERAX.
WATERAX offers a limited warranty as described fully below. Among other things, it also specifically disclaims liability for:

Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply
to you. This statutory warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state or province to province.
WATERAX offers a limited guarantee of all products manufactured by WATERAX to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship
for a period of one (1) year from date of invoice or one hundred (100) hours of usage, whichever comes first, subject to use of such products
strictly according to instructions. Any product manufactured by or for us believed by you to contain a defect must be returned to WATERAX
for examination and evaluation. You are responsible for payment of transportation charges. If after inspection by us or an expert appointed by
us the product is in fact found to be defective, WATERAX will repair or replace the defective product and reimburse the original buyer for
transportation charges to and from our warehouse.
Limitation of Liability
THE WARRANTY SPECIFIED HEREIN IS LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED,
OR IMPLIED.
WATERAX hereby expressly disclaims any express or implied warranties of merchantability or of fitness for any particular purpose.
WATERAX’s liability on any claim of any kind, including negligence, for any damage or loss including but not limited to personal injury or consequential
damage arising out of, connected with or resulting from this contract, or from the manufacture, lease, sales, delivery, resale, return, repair, maintenance,
handling or use of any product covered by or furnished under this sale, shall in no case exceed the purchase price. WATERAX shall not be liable for
any penalty or for any special, indirect or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, any economic loss, loss of revenue or loss of opportunity.
The foregoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability or
fitness for a particular purpose. Your exclusive remedy with respect to any and all losses or damages resulting from any cause whatsoever, including our
negligence, shall be repair or replacement as specified above. We shall in no event be liable for any consequential or incidental damages of any nature,
including without limitation, damages for personal injury or damages to property, and however occasioned, whether alleged as resulting from breach of
warranty or contract by us or our negligence or otherwise.
B. Warranty on Products Distributed by WATERAX
WATERAX makes no warranty, express or implied, with respect to any product distributed by it and manufactured by third-party manufacturers.
You, the purchaser, can only rely upon such warranties, if any, that are made by their respective manufacturers and subject the limitations that
may be contained in such warranties according to the respective terms thereof. WATERAX hereby assigns, as applicable, any such manufacturer
warranty to you as the purchaser, if assignable. However, WATERAX disclaims all other warranties or conditions for items whether express, oral,
implied or otherwise, as to any matter whatsoever, including but not limited to, implied warranties or conditions of merchantable quality or fitness
for a particular purpose and those arising by statute or otherwise in law or form a course of dealing usage of trade.
