The Source Thursday, November 13, 2014 All announcements for the Source must be submitted to Gerry Rehder (Source Editor) in electronic format ([email protected]) no later than 1:00 pm Wednesday in order to be included in the Source for the next day. IMPORTANT TECHNICAL INFORMATION! 1. Torrenting – We are continuing to receive official complaints from the Copyright authorities regarding copyrighted material being made available for others to download from our campus. If you are torrenting, either move your downloaded items out of the folder or turn off your torrenting software. You must actually “Exit” the software – closing the window does not turn it off. This is a serious legal issue. 2. Student Email – If you are a returning student and your email is not working you should contact Rob McIntyre by email ASAP at [email protected] regarding your email password. When student email was migrated to Gmail this summer, some of the passwords needed to be changed so your password is probably changed. 3. Important Portal Issue – when you log into your portal you will be confronted with a message regarding Canada’s new anti-spam legislation. Please check the box underneath the message. If you do not you will not receive email from the college sent via the portal, including your instructors. The law states that we need your explicit consent to send you email.
