Module Basic EUROPEAN SPINE COURSE DIPLOMA Module Basic Comprehensive Course November 24, 2014 Thessaloniki, Greece 1/7 ModuleBCC_Diploma_Thes14_rev0 Module Basic INTRODUCTION EUROSPINE the Spine Society of Europe, with the support of the EuroSpine Foundation, provide education on spinal matters. The focus is on spinal issues relevant to the European health care community. The five modules of the basic diploma are a foundation for more advanced learning. Module Basic contains the fundamentals that inform the other modules. It is mix of knowledge, skills, and the ethics and attitudes that are considered by Eurospine to be essential. Topics and details of specific knowledge are developed further in the subsequent four modules. Evidence based approaches inform clinical best practice. Patient safety, as an example, is a common theme across all health care delivery. The two main objectives of EUROSPINE are: - Deliver a high quality educational program to future spine specialists that meets the core learning needs of spine specialists - Deliver life long education to spine specialists that meets their appraisal needs and personal development plans. MODULE BASIC COMPREHENSIVE COURSE – DIPLOMA COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Understand the impact of spinal disorders on the individual and society Acquire knowledge and skills to thoroughly evaluate a spinal patient Be confident in identifying the features of serious and urgent spinal disorders Recognize and describe the safe early management of emergency and serious spine disorders and know the principles of treatment. Recognize the need for clinical judgment in determining the optimum care for the individual patient TARGET PARTICIPANTS Physicians intending to acquire fundamental knowledge on the evaluation of spinal disorders – disease processes, clinical skills, and the emergency approach to disorders of the spine, including the last year residents of the relevant medical specialties. Attendees must be present from the start of the Module until the end of the Module as defined in the final program and attend all parts of the program, without exceptions. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in a non validated course module and refusal of Certificate of Attendance and CME accreditation. The certificate will be made available on MyESF after the course REGISTRATION, DEADLINE AND FEE Registrations are accepted on a first come-first served basis. Registrations are open to spine specialists. All non-European registration will be open based on course availability 45 days prior to the start of the Education Week. Registrations are not confirmed until payment is received. ESF reserves the right to cancel registration if payment is not received within 24 hours of registration. ESF reserves the right to cancel the course if sufficient registrations are not received. In the case of cancellation for this reason, attendees are entitled to a full refund. ESF is not responsible for travel fees, or any expenses incurred as a result of such cancellation. Registration confirmations will be communicated as soon as the course reaches the minimum course attendance requirement. ESF reserves the right to change faculty & program. The attendee is responsible for ensuring that EuroSpine Foundation (ESF) receives the written request. ESF will reply with a written acknowledgement within one week. Once the attendee is registered and paid, cancellation will be accepted up to 90 (July 28 th) days prior to the Live Education Event, reimbursed at 50% of the registration fee. Any cancellation within 90 (July 28 th) days of the start of the Live Education Event, will not be reimbursed. Rescheduling registration to a future course is not possible.
