INTRODUCTION 1.1 Limitations of a particular trial activity being conducted at the Woomera Test Range in South Australia necessitate the use of airspace beyond the extent of existing Woomera PRD areas. This AIP SUP provides detail on active PRD areas, a temporary restricted area (TRA) adjoining the southern boundary of R222G, declared in support of Defence test and evaluation activity as well as the partial activation of R222H and R246B. 2. TEMPORARY RESTRICTED AREA 2.1 The following TRA, depicted in appendix 1 has been declared, CASA OAR 152/14: Conditional Status: RA2. Usage: MILITARY FLYING Lateral limits: S30 58 E135 47, S31 08 E136 00, S31 03 E136 00, S31 00 E135 52 S30 58 E135 47 Vertical limits: SFC - NOTAM. Page 2 of 3 AIRSPACE ACTIVATION 3.1 The TRA will be activated in association with the following Woomera Restricted areas: R222ABCEG, R246C and the portions of R222H and R246B described below. See appendix A for a diagram of the entire airspace activation. a. R222H portion. R222H shall be activated as follows Lateral limits: South of S29 48 and East of E135 15. Vertical limits: SFC – UNL b. R246B portion R246B shall be activated as follows Lateral limits: S29 48 E135 20, S29 58 E135 20, S29 58 E136 50.8, S29 35 E136 42.3, S29 35 E135 45, S29 48 E135 45, S29 48 E 135 20 Vertical limits: SFC – UNL 3.2 The airspace is expected to be activated daily from 2330 – 0330Z from 17 – 30 Nov 14. Check NOTAM for accurate timings. Note that the TRA NOTAM will be published in the Melbourne FIR (YMMM) section. 4. ACCESS TO THE TEMPORARY RESTRICTED AREA 4.1 Access to the TRA described above, by non-participating aircraft, is not available unless the aircraft has approval from Woomera Range Operations staff. Approved flights will include: a. Medical Flights (MEDEVAC), and b. Aircraft with a declared emergency. 4.2 Clearances through the TRA, where available, will be provided by Melbourne Centre (ML CEN). ML CEN will coordinate requests from MEDEVAC aircraft or airborne aircraft experiencing an emergency with Woomera Range Operations staff in accordance with existing procedures for WRX airspace.
