20th Annual East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival Schedule of Events THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH ~ 6 TO 8 P.M. SPONSORS’ RECEPTION ~ TURNAGE THEATER This invitation only event will be held at the historic Turnage Theater. The winning, original artwork for the North Carolina Duck Stamp will be unveiled. Also, an exhibit featuring a complete collection of North Carolina Duck Stamp artwork will be on display. In recognition of the 20th Annual Show, the North Carolina Champion decoy carvings will be on exhibit. Sponsorship information is available by calling 252-948-9415 ext. 2. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH ~ 5 TO 8 P.M. Art Show & Sale ~ Washington Civic Center, 110 N. Gladden Street More than 40 artists will have their works of art on display and available for sale. This diverse group features artists from across the country that specialize in wildlife art. Only on Friday night, members of the East Carolina Wildfowl Guild will be demonstrating the art of decoy carving. Friday night passes $5 or $15 for the weekend. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH ~ 9 A.M. TO 5 P.M. Free Shuttles Provided Art Show & Sale ~ Washington Civic Center, 110 N. Gladden Street More than 40 artists will have their works of art on display and available for sale. This diverse group features artists from across the country that specialize in wildlife art. Carving Competition ~ Peterson Building, 310 W. Main St. More than a dozen divisions make this carving competition worth seeing. Watch how the judges select from a variety of handcrafted decoys and view prizewinning birds for yourself. Sportsman Tent & Outdoor Market ~ Festival Park, 119 E. Water Street Exhibits and vendors with the sportsman in mind, including: NC Wildlife Resources Commission Exhibits, Sensory Safari Trailer, Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park, and Boatbuilding by Jimmy’s Boathouse. Guilford Bowhunters will also be on hand for spectators to try their hand at the sport. Children’s Decoy Painting Workshop ~ NC Estuarium, 223 East Water Street The workshop is free (and fun), but preregistration is required. There are two classes: 9 to 10 and 10:30 to 11:30, for children between 4 and 12 years of age. Call for reservations at 252-948-0000. After the workshop, enjoy the exhibits in the NC Estuarium that will be open to children and youth free of charge, adults at half price of $2.50 (with show ticket). Beaufort County Traditional Music Association ~ Caboose Lawn at Washington Civic Center The BCTMA members will entertain you with their musical talents from 1 to 3 p.m. Auction ~ Washington Yacht & Country Club, 7155 River Road Auction & Seafood Buffet at Washington Yacht & Country Club, dinner reservations required: 252-9465470.
