The Textile Association (India) is the foremost largest textile professional body of India established
in the year 1939, consisting of 23000 members with 26 affiliated units spread across the length &

The phenomenal growth achieved by the TAI, Vidarbha unit
over the years resulted into receiving Best Unit Award (small
Unit Category) at national level consecutively for three years
in 1999, 2000 and 2001. The unit has earlier organized two
unit level conferences in year 2002, 2004 & two national
conferences in year 1979 & 2006 which were highly
appreciated by textile technologists and industrialists from
all across India.
There is firing of ambitions in terms of globalization; there is quantum
change in scale of ambitions of India's business leaders and
entrepreneurs. They started innovating on business model, delivery,
product, process, technology, customer service and logistics.
Innovations, Research & Development have touched every sector of
Textile & Clothing industry. The Indian textile industry is extremely
varied with the hand spun and hand woven sector at one end of the
spectrum and the capital intensive, sophisticated mill sector at the other.
With sustainable value addition at each stage of processing from raw
material to delivery of finished product will contributes much at every
stage. The industry is highly brand driven as well as acutely segmented

Vidarbha is currently become infamous because of farmer's suicide distress. The majority of suicides have
been reported from cotton cultivating area. Inspite of cotton rich area farmers from this region are shifting
from Cotton to other crops like Soyabin. Out of total cotton produced in Vidarbha, 70 % is going outside for
value addition since investment is not coming to this region. To address such societal issues, we have to adopt
value added manufacturing & retail led growth dynamics in textile and clothing industry for employment
generation, economic development and prosperity of the region. Only the unbridled actions of people,
entrepreneurs, dreamers, visionaries, risk takers, job creators and wealth creators can lift Vidarbha as an
altogether new level of prosperity and well being.
To benefit the textile professionals with rich content & topics of discussion. Additionally the galaxy of high profile speakers
