Students need to meet that evening at 5:30pm in the High School Choir Room. We will be doing our dress rehearsal at the high school on Wednesday, December 3rd starting at 8:30am. Please make sure your child is at school ON TIME that day. Thanks! Also, we will only be doing make up for the evening performance. Below you will find the costume list of what your child needs to wear for the musical. COSTUME EXTRAS NEED TO BE AT SCHOOL BY WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH SO WE HAVE THEM FOR OUR DRESS REHEARSAL THE NEXT WEEK AFTER THANKSGIVING BREAK!! If you need help acquiring an item, I’ll be glad to help! Just call (685-2526) or send a note. Santa (Hayden Loy): Traditional Santa outfit (or something similar). A beard is great but there should be nothing covering his nose or mouth so we can hear him speak clearly! Mrs. Claus (Katera McConahay): Traditional Mrs. Claus outfit - red dress, white apron, hair doily, black shoes, glasses, etc. I have an “old lady” wig or she can spray her hair gray.) Crystal Snowflake (Emma Johnston) Dress up! You are a star! A dress or fancy outfit (maybe sequins or sparkles), a boa (I have one if you don’t), jewelry, long white gloves, a tiara. REINDEER (Mrs. Orr’s Homeroom): Any type of long dark brown pants and a plain, long-sleeved brown shirt. Sweat suits work really well for this. K-Mart or Wal-Mart often has these priced inexpensively if you wish to purchase one. We will supply bows and antlers. Please wear comfy shoes (tennis shoes would be best). Rudolph (Damen Launder): The above outfit with red antlers (which I have) plus a painted red nose. I don’t want to use anything that covers his nose so he can sing well. ELVES (Miss Church and Mrs. Stevens’s classes): Any type of colorful shirt and skirt or pants - GREENS, REDS, GOLDS - (the pants will be rolled up to just below the knee or your child can wear Capri pants), colorful knee socks or tights. It would be cute if the girls wore their hair in pigtails or ponytails on top of the head or added big bows or ribbons to their hair. Elf-looking hats or Santa hats would be great for the guys. (I have a few Santa hats that could be borrowed). We will use red face paint the day/night of the show to make circular “red cheeks” on the elves. Kids can do the program in their socks or I have several pair of red “elf shoes” if they would like to borrow a pair. TOYS FROM THE NUTCRACKER (Mrs. Ross’s class): Each character will have a different costume. Little Girl - Carollynn Hogue: A pretty long nightgown or dress and slippers. Uncle - Austin Fox: Dressed as an older man. Dress pants and a long-sleeved button down shirt with a tie. Maybe an “old man” hat. Prince - Hunter Eubanks: Dressed as a Nutcracker, Soldier or just in dress pants and a long-sleeved button down shirt with a tie. Mice with Swords - Trevor Thompson, Deacon Litchfield, Levi King, Allex Smith: Grey long-sleeved shirt and grey pants. Sweat suits work really well for this. K-Mart or Wal-Mart often has these priced inexpensively if you wish to purchase one. We will make ears and tails at school. Dancing Dolls - Marra Winegardner and Alexis Larrick: Raggedy Andy looking outfits or anything cute. Candy Canes - Jocelyn Ivey and Leia McIntosh: I have this covered. Nothing is needed. Just cute hair! Chocolate Bear - Ernie Eltringham: I have this covered. Nothing is needed. Gingerbread Man - Drake Denman: Brown pants and a sweatshirt with a hood so you can add on ears. Add red candy “buttons” or a bowtie or white “frosting” around the wrist and ankle areas. Be creative! Ballerinas - Paige Norris and Kayleigh Denman: Leotards, tights, skirts and ballet shoes if you already have some. If not, the girls can do the program in their tights or socks over the tights. Pretty hair!! Sugar Plum Fairy - Mya Trent: Ballet type outfit, perhaps with some wings if you have any (I might have something you can use if you can’t find anything). Fancy hair! Chinese Dancers - Luke Warner and Brenton Woods: Please wear black pants (or dark blue jeans and a white short-sleeved shirt (I have something if you don't). It doesn’t matter if the shirt has something on it. I have a “kimono” of sorts to put on over the shirt. Russian Dancers - Logan Laird and Skyler Dickey: Black pants and a long-sleeved white button down shirt (I have a few that might fit the boys if you don’t have one), black toboggan hat (which we will stuff with tissue paper). I have a red waist sash to add. Flowers - Joclyne Gadd and Shianna Howard: Any pastel colored pants and shirts. We will pin on some flowers. Please have “pretty hair” and wear a flower clip in your hair. (I have some if you don’t). SNOWMEN (Mr. Francis and Mrs. Moore’s classes): Any type of long white pants (or leggings/tights) and a plain, long-sleeved white shirt. Sweat suits work really well for this. K-Mart or Wal-Mart often has these priced inexpensively if you wish to purchase one. Students need something to decorate costumes with to look like snowmen (ex. top hats, scarves, mittens, big buttons, etc.). We will use orange face paint the day/night of the show to make “carrots” on their noses. A permission slip will be sent home with your child soon. We will be leaving Brook Elementary about 8:30AM. Students are expected to dress up for this event and look their best! Some ideas include dress pants and a button-down shirt, polo shirt, sweater or turtleneck for boys and dresses, skirts or dress pants and a nice top for girls. Students may not wear jeans, sweats or t-shirts. Following the performance, we will be stopping at a local fast food restaurant for lunch. Your child will need to bring money to purchase his or her own lunch that day ($5 - $7 would probably cover the cost).
