Long before the age of cell phones, I
had a young adult in my church who
needed to talk with one of the pastors.
After many calls he could not reach
any of us, so he assumed that the Last
Days had come and we had all “fled to
the hills” without telling him! The only
place he could think of where we would
have gone was our church-owned Pine Springs Ranch Camp
in the mountains. So he drove all the way up there only to
find that none of us were there. It was not quite the Last
Days yet . . . and he had not missed out . . . yet!

While the Last Days had not arrived then, the Bible does say
there will be a time when “one will be taken, one will be left
behind”. What will make the difference? What does it take
to be “ready” all the time, so you never have to worry about
being “left behind”? And when is it that not being able to
reach me will be the signal to head for the mountains or
PSR or Joshua Tree State Park? We are discussing these
questions in our current message series, Ready to Go! and
Elder Penick is continuing our discussion of how to be ready
in his message today.
