DAllas overview
At the All Stars we transform the lives of youth and poor
communities using the developmental power of performance, in
partnership with caring adults.
The All Stars Project gives people the experiences they need to
both build bridges and to cross them. Utilizing the ground breaking
and innovative discoveries of the power of play and performance
to reinitiate growth and development, the All Stars Project – with
programs in New York City, Newark, Chicago, Bridgeport, CT,
the San Francisco Bay Area and now Dallas – has been a creative
and cultural force in developing young people and adults from
disadvantaged communities. Participants in the All Stars learn to
build new kinds of communities that bring poor people together
with those from middle class and more affluent backgrounds. In the
All Stars Project, everyone performs and gives, and by doing so,
develops. The All Stars Project not only creates bridges, but gives
people the key tool of performance that they need to cross them.
Dallas has beautiful bridges, both old and new. Let’s cross them, in
all directions, so we can develop together.
All Stars Project
of Dallas Programs
In the All Stars Talent Show Network (ASTSN), young people
ages 5-25 perform in and produce hip-hop talent shows.
Cheered on by audiences of family members, neighbors and
volunteers, they perform as rappers, singers and dancers and
participate in auditions, rehearsals and development workshops.
Young People Building Bridges Across Dallas (YBBAD) is a
leadership program where young leaders ages 16-25 participate
in workshops led by top professionals in business, finance and
performing arts. They learn how to successfully perform in
every aspect of life and gain skills and experiences necessary to
become a leader at school and/or in the community.

“The All Stars Project impacted who I want to
be in life. I learned that it is important to open
up myself and express myself, because you can
open yourself up to new possibilities.”

“Being a part of the All Stars gave me a chance
to give back to my community and something to
do. I like that because it also helps kids stay out
of trouble.”

Hunter and Stephanie Hunt
Chairs, All Stars Project of Dallas Advisory Committee
“We really love the sense of bridge building that the All Stars Project brings to the community. We can’t
talk about a broader community if we don’t have everybody in the community involved. The All Stars
demands that everybody get in a room and talk and build those bridges.”
David Chard
Dean of the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education
and Human Development at Southern Methodist University
“I am convinced that the launch of the All Stars Project, is something very big for our city. In the education
sector, we’ve known that educational attainment is impacted by poverty and impacts poverty. We are
good at looking at the measurement of academic achievement and academic outcomes for our students,
but we have not been as good at how we examine youth development and its impact on poverty and the
way it’s impacted by poverty.
That’s the kind of inquiry done by the All Stars Project and it’s important that we engage in this kind of
questioning. Now that they are here and in our city, we can have a different kind of conversation about
how to help our students and our communities - and I am very much looking to be a part of that.”
David White
VP of Finance, Sharyland Utilities
“To break the cycle of poverty for a child, sometimes all you need to do is change their trajectory in
life. The All Stars Project provides the child with the tools and motivations to change that trajectory in
a positive way.”
Hank Neely
Partner, EY
“Simply put, the All Stars Project is about changing young people’s lives by developing life skills and
exposing them to opportunities they may not otherwise see. ASP is already having a meaningful impact
in Dallas, which will become even greater as All Stars’ reach grows and expands.”
Reservation and Contribution Form
Yes, I want to help the All Stars Project of Dallas grow
by expanding and creating more opportunities for young
people in Dallas.
