POSSIBLY THE BEST SALTWATER FLYFISHING ON THE PLANET Mavungana will be returning to the Seychelles. We have been planning this for some time, waiting for the opportunity to secure a prime week targeting the exceptional predator, the Giant Trevally. This is only the second & third week of the 2015 summer season, and is placed around a new moon on the 13th October. The predators should be hungry and should be on the flats looking for mullet and bonefish and possibly even the hatching birds. The fishing at Farquhar has over the past few years become synonymous with the term 'fly fishing paradise’ and has provided all those fortunate enough to visit her shores the opportunity to fish some of the finest and most productive flats the Indian Ocean has to offer. These flats consist of hard white sand, turtle grass and broken coral which make for comfortable wading. Anglers can wade and sight fish to an impressive variety of species which, although this week has GT as our focus, also includes exceptional flats bonefishing, the mighty Bumphead Parrotfish and Wrasse which they are now targetting with success on the fly. The inquisitive Triggerfish as well as Barracuda and Bluefin Trevally. If you are lucky, you may even get a shot at Permit, so there really is a wide variety of exceptional flats fish to be caught. Farquhar is certainly best known for the sheer diversity of species it offers anglers fortunate enough to visit her shores, so if stalking Bonefish in skinny water, throwing crab flies at the colourful and charismatic tailing Triggerfish or holding your nerve as a large GT charges in at your fly interests you ….well then Farquhar is certainly the venue for you.
