Reading Program
Your New Year’s Resolution should be to pack on the pounds—of
books, that is! Bring the books you read from Jan. 3 – Feb. 28 to the
Adult Services Reference Desk to weigh in and be entered for a chance
to win prizes. For your first pound gained, you will receive an entry into
the raffle. For every 3 pounds after that, you will receive an additional
raffle entry. Happy reading!

Celebrate American Heart Month
Celebrate American Health Month by knitting or crocheting red hats
for all babies born in February at participating hospitals. We’re raising
awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans and
congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the
country. Sample patterns for baby hats can be found in a binder at the
Reference Desk.

Take the chance to de-stress and unwind at our new Silent Reading Club!
During the Silent Reading Club, all members will be able to turn off or silence
their phones or devices, and sit quietly for 1 hour to read an item of their
choosing. After one hour, members can choose to leave or they may stay to
discuss what they were reading with other members of the group.
Arm Knit an Infinity Scarf

Take the opportunity to learn how to knit a warm scarf with your arms! Yarn will
be provided, but please feel free to bring your own if you have certain colors
that you want to use. Ideal yarns to work with are thick and chunky. Lion’s Brand
Thick and Quick is a great example of yarn to use for this project. You will want to
bring 2 skeins of yarn for the project we are doing. Registration required begins

DIY Photo Coasters

gift. We will supply all the materials. You just provide 4 of your favorite
photos to make your coasters. You will be making a set of 4 coasters. You

vast choices of designs, colors, scenes, people, pets, hobbies to choose to

Non-New Lenox cardholders will be placed on the waiting list and contacted
if there is space available. Please contact the Library prior to any activity or
program for special accommodations. By attending a program at the Library, the
attendee (or their guardian) gives permission for the Library to take pictures for
use in Library publications.
Fabric Covered Photo Frame Mat

frame. We will provide the materials. Feel free to bring your own pieces
of any favorite leftover fabrics. You will have your choice of sizes of mats

Scheduling a one-on-one or Lynda.com appointment at the Library is an
option you may want to consider. A one-on-one will offer you a 30-40
minute session with a member of Adult Services to assist you with the
technology topic you are interested in. Lynda.com offers a wide variety
of technology tutorials for users who range from beginner to advanced
and is available in our Digital Media Lab.
One-on-ones and Lynda.com must be scheduled in advance, and
before using Lynda.com, guests must attend the brief Digital Media Lab
Orientation.
