Sneak A Peak - All Saints Education Center News... The
topic of learning this week in our 4 year old preschool
classroom revolved around Thanksgiving. It is amazing what the young mind is thankful for. With all the
friends in our classroom, not one answer was the same.
Barnes & Nobles Mankato Bookfair supporting All
Saints Education Center is Sunday, November 23rd

St Ann’s Altar Society: Just a couple of reminders!
St Ann’s will be sponsoring the Christmas Tin Project on Saturday, December 6th for our 60+ home
bound, hospitalized, and/or those who have suffered
losses/hardships this year. We need your help. If
you can donate Christmas cookies or candies, help
us assemble the tins at 9:00am in Scheid Hall (youth
are encouraged to help) or deliver them, PLEASE

early. The other St Ann’s sponsored event is the Senior Citizen’s Dinner on Monday, December 8th,
following the 11:00am Mass.

PASTOR’S MESSAGE.....

The Church celebrates the feast of Christ the King on the
last Sunday (34th Sunday), of her liturgical year. It was
Pope Pius XI who introduced this feast in the liturgy in
1925. Although Emperors and Kings now exist mostly
in history books, we still honor Christ as the King of the
Universe by enthroning him in our hearts and allowing
him to take control of our lives. Today the Church presents Jesus as our King and Lord who was and is the visible presence of God in our midst.
On His Majesty’s Service: Polycarp, the bishop of Smyrna, was brought before the Roman authorities and told
to curse Christ and he would be released. He replied,
“Eighty-six years have I served him, and he has done
me no wrong: how then can I blaspheme my King Jesus Christ who saved me?” The Roman officer replied,
“Unless you change your mind, I will have you burnt.”
But Polycarp said, “You threaten a fire that burns for an
hour, and after a while is quenched; for you are ignorant
of the judgment to come and of everlasting punishment
reserved for the ungodly. Do what you wish.”
JOKES OF THE WEEK: Christ the King fan: A second
grade teacher tells her class she’s a big “Los Angeles Lakers” fan. She’s really excited about it and asks the kids
if they’re Lakers fans too. Everyone wants to impress the
teacher and says they’re Lakers fans too, except one kid,
named Josh. The teacher looks at Josh and says, “Josh,
you’re not a Lakers fan?” He says, “Nope, I’m a Christ the
King fan!” She says, “I have never heard of a professional
basketball team by that name! Well why are you a ‘Christ
the King’ fan, and not a Lakers fan?” Josh says, “Well, my
mom is a Christ the King fan, and my dad is a Christ the
King fan, so I’m a Christ the King fan.”
The teacher’s not real happy. She’s a little hot under the collar. She says, “Well, if your mom were an idiot, and your
dad were a moron, then what would you be?!” Josh says,
“Then I’d be a Lakers fan!”

Lives.” “Come work for Christ the King. The work is hard,
the hours are long and the pay is low. But the retirement
benefits are very grand and out of this world. “
Walk out on Christ the King Sunday: “I hope you didn’t take
it personally, Reverend,” an embarrassed woman said after
a church service, “when my husband walked out during
your sermon on Christ the King.” “I did find it rather disconcerting,” the preacher replied. “It’s not a reflection on
you, sir,” she insisted. “Ralph has been walking in his sleep
ever since he was a child.”

First Reconciliation Retreat: A special thanks to Brenda
Torborg for preparing the the First Reconciliation Retreat
for our second grade students last weekend. Lots of fun,
learning and crafts to help them prepare for this very special sacrament which will be celebrated at All Saints on
Saturday, December 6th at 11:00 am
Confirmation Retreat: The Confirmation students from
All Saints, Immaculate Conception and St. Ann Churches
attended a retreat on Tuesday, November 18th. The evening included group sharing, reflection and prayer. Please
keep them in your prayers as they continue on their faith
journey. A special thank you to our hosts who supplied
beds and breakfasts for the NET Team, Dan & Marie Ireland, Dennis and Cathy Seys & Dan and Cheryl Sodeman.
Immaculate Conception: No Class for grades 1-10 on

Practice for the Christmas pageant will be during class
time on Wednesday, December 10th.

the “least” in your neighborhood?

Stewardship: “…as you did it to one of the least of my brethren,
you did it to me” – Matthew 25:40 Most of us are generous
when it’s convenient for us. We are generous when we have
the time or the money. But, generosity is the opposite of that.
It means giving of one’s time, money, compassion, forgiveness,
mercy when it’s not convenient; when it’s not on our schedule,
but on the other person’s schedule.

outside of church and participate in the Kiwanis Holiday Light Display at Sibley Park. For $10.00, you can
have a loved one’s name put on a snowflake ornament on our tree at Sibley Park and lights on our tree at
