General Information
Estimated Values: The estimated values shown in the right hand column after each lot are the auctioneer’s
estimate of what each lot will sell for. Lots usually sell for within 20% of these estimates, bids of below 70%
of estimate are unlikely to succeed.
Postal Bidding: Bids may submitted before the auction using the form provided. Maximum bids should be
entered as lots will be sold to the highest bidder at one step above the next highest bid. For example, if a
postal bid of €250 is entered and the next highest bid is €180, the postal bid succeeds at €190.
Bid forms should be posted to Dublin Coin Auctions, PO Box 2723, Cardiff Lane, Dublin 2
Bids may also be sent up to 3PM on Wednesday 26th November, by fax to 01 4962245 or by email to
[email protected]
Telephone Bidding: Live bidding by telephone may be arranged in advance but only for individual lots
estimated at €500 or more. Phone 089 4138474.
Terms and Conditions
Lots are put up subject to any reserve price imposed by the vendor, and are sold to the highest bidder, subject
to the absolute discretion of the auctioneer.
All room bidders must register name and address and obtain a bidding number prior to the auction. (Proof of
identity may be required)
Bidding and advances shall be regulated at the discretion of the auctioneer.
The auctioneer shall not be responsible for the correct description, genuineness or authenticity of any lot.
If any dispute arises the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to determine the dispute and may re-offer
the disputed lot for sale.
No lot illustrated in the catalogue shall be rejected because of any characteristic apparent from the
illustration.
Each lot shall be at the purchaser’s risk from the fall of the hammer and shall be paid for in full before delivery
and taken away at his expense.
The purchaser of a lot shall immediately on its sale, if required by the auctioneer, give his name and address
and shall pay to the auctioneer the purchase price.
Purchasers shall pay a buyer’s premium on the hammer price of 12.5% plus V.A.T. on premium of 23% (i.e.
15.4% gross)
No delivery of purchases will be given while the auction is in progress.
The auctioneer reserves the right to bid on behalf of clients and vendors, but shall not be liable for errors or
omissions in carrying out instructions to bid.
