INDONESIA POWER GENERATION http://repit.wordpress.com/ [email protected] PLTP Ulumbu – NTT PLTP Ulumbu is a power plant utilizing geothermal energy located in the village Wewo, District Satar Mese, Manggarai Central, East Nusa Tenggara, about 22 miles south of Ruteng. Trial operation of the electricity that utilize geothermal resources Ulumbu begins with drilling the first well in 2003. Drilling resumed later in 2006 the second and third drilling wells. In Dec 2008, GDA signed a contract with PT PAL Indonesia for the design, manufacture, and supply of equipment for the Ulumbu geothermal project on Flores Island. First electricity was generated in Nov 2011. Later in the year 2012, second unit of Ulumbu began to supply the electricity to other districts on the island of Flores. Ulumbu was lit electricity to four villages. Late in November of 2 x 2.5 MW will be spliced into the city Ruteng. Year 2012 will also go to neighboring districts and starting in 2013 across mainland Flores electricity supplied from Ulumbu. In September 2014, Second Phase of 2 × 2.5 MW capacity has been successfully commissioned and start producing electricity.
