If you are using it on a balcony or on the terrace, make absolutely sure that the appliance is under cover and protected against damp. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed socket outlet with the specified voltage as that on the rating label. Shaver sockets that are not earthed are not suitable. The appliance must be switched off when you plug it into the power socket. Do not use the heater if the appliance or power cord are visibly damaged or if the heater has been dropped. Check the heating bars and connection cable regularly. Prevent damage to the cable from sharp edges or heat. Place the cable in such a way that it cannot become a stumbling trap. Connect the appliance only to a 1,500 watt output extension lead. Remove the mains plug, if a disturbance occurs during use, after use and before cleaning. When doing so, always pull the plug itself - never the cable. The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage and the appliance is not to be used if the cord is damaged. If the mains lead is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not locate the heater immediately above or below a fixed socket outlet or connection box. Keep combustible materials away from the heater. Do not position patio furniture, sunshades, awnings and other combustible materials too close to the heater. Never cover the appliance and never place anything over or on the appliance. Keep it away from all flammable objects - at a safe distance of at least 500mm. Never operate the appliance without supervision. Stand the electric heater on a level surface. The electric heater will only work if placed on a level surface. On an uneven ground the safety switch on the underside of the appliance may not be pressed in and the electric heater will fail to operate. For safety reasons this switch must not be bridged or otherwise disabled. Please keep the safety switch clean to ensure that it functions correctly. Never use the appliance together with switch units such as a timer which automatically turns the appliance on – it may become a fire hazard, if the appliance has been accidentally covered or moved! Never clean the appliance with highly flammable cleaning agents such as petrol or spirit. Let the appliance cool completely before storing it away.
