o MowMax™ II cutterbar – the MowMax™ II cutterbar joins the Discbine 313/316. This cutterbar is featured on the
Durabine™ Disc Head and many of the same features are now included in the Discbine® version. The cutterbar has
improved durability due to the use of larger gears, bearings, and interconnecting shafts. Cutting height has been
improved to ¾ - 2 and ¾ inches allowing the unit to cut closer to the ground while maintaining maximum cutting
angle. This improves hay quality. ShockPRO™ disc hub protection comes standard on the MowMax II cutterbar. The
MowMax II discs have a “tapered skirt” design which allow lower cut heights and a smoother transition of crop to the
conditioner. Heavy cast rock guards come standard on the MowMax II design.
o WideDry™ Conditioning System – a new conditioning system that is 125” wide, boasts a 22.5% or 23”
improvement over the H7000 series. A wider conditioning system allows the crop mat passing through the
conditioning to be uniform. The Discbine 313 and 316 have the best cut to conditioning ratio in the industry. This
increases hay quality as more consistent conditioning is applied which decreases dry-down time. Co-Rotating disc
modules have been removed on the Discbine 313 and reduced to one pair on the Discbine 316. This greatly reduces
the crop convergence between the cutterbar and the conditioner. A new slip sleeve bearing and cast roll arm help
the bottom roll to drive the top roll.
o WideDry™ two-Speed Conditioner – a two-speed conditioner is standard equipment on roll conditioning units.
The WideDry conditioning system can be slowed down from 750 RPM to 640 RPM by switching the sheaves and
using the same belt. This is beneficial for light crop conditions as roll conditioning generates air bursts that can blow
lighter crop away from the cutterbar and effect cut quality. Slowing roll speed reduces air
velocity but still allows the cutterbar speed and tractor RPM to remain the same. A kit is also available for the flail
conditioning style.
Improved cutting and crop flow – the new Discbine 313/316 has the best cut-to conditioning ratio in the industry.
Allowing crop to flow easily from the cutterbar to conditioning and exit the machine in all crops and applications will
improve crop quality.All co-rotating discs have been removed from the Discbine 313 and one pair remains on the
Discbine 316. Now, cut crop does not need to be “moved” to the conditioning path.
Wedges, similar to the Wide Thin Fin Kit, are mounted on the rear swath board as standard equipment to help
spread the crop mat. Windrow shields are 14.5 inches longer than the previous series. The swath gate has a spring
assist for customer friendly adjustment.
o Simplified Drivelines – a single drive shaft has moved to the left side of the unit to reduce clutter and provide a
cleaner appearance. The MowMax II cutterbar is now driven from one side through the larger gears incorporated into
the cutterbar design. The first set of interconnecting shaft splines are wet splines to ensure a long, reliable life. The
swivel gearbox now swivels with the tongue and removes the steering linkages. The PTO drives now have an
extended 50 hour lube interval. Lastly, the driven end access door is a flip up style and has a double layer of steel for
durability against rock dents.
o Advanced Shielding – polyethylene, high density, bi-fold upper shielding provides an updated modern look and
numerous benefits. The weight of the shields has been reduced by 75%, allowing the operator to more easily raise
and check the cutterbar area. The shielding is high density and impact resistant, allowing it to withstand dents from
foreign objects. The curtains have no clips or magnets and have overlap to keep straight and in place. If the operator
forgets to lower the upper shielding, the Discbine can now pivot while the shields are open and cause no damage.
Flotation – the rear flotation pivot point is now located lower than the front pivot point allowing the header to move
up and away from foreign objects. This improves the cutterbar durability, lessens customer downtime, and decreases
costly repairs. The wheel rim has increased in thickness from 0.22 to 0.385 inches and the rim and tire assembles
have been moved to the inside of the header. These changes allow the heaviest part of the header to have the most
flotation, in uneven terrain.
o Hitch & Tongue – a slip clutch is now located at the front of the hitch. This gives added protection and simplicity
to the hitch area. A less hitch option is now available. This provides the dealer with the ability to use a “take off” hitch
from a prior field conversion that was ordered through parts. Both hitch styles will now have a dedicated kit with part
number, fully orderable from parts. The swing transport lockout is now controlled by a convenient single lever control.
o Replacement Knives – the Discbine 313/316 can be equipped with six different knives, which depend on
different crop conditions and soil types. All knives feature two cutting edges for twice the life. 14 degree, smooth
knives are standard equipment on the Discbine 313/316. These knives provide the best choice and value for most
conditions. Knives available through parts include: 14 degree serrated, 18 degree smooth, 18
degree serrated, 7 degree smooth, and rock knives.
o Skid Shoes – four types of skid shoes are now available with the Discbine 313/316. Standard or Fixed Height are
best suited for most crop and provide good cutterbar protection. Adjustable skid shoes are optional and allow the
operator to quickly change cut height as the crop conditions change. High-Stubble skid shoes are optional and
provided a greater minimum and maximum cut height. BioMass skid shoes or Extra High skid shoes are optional and
are best used for energy type crops, allowing for extra high stubble height. Fixed Height (standard) ¾ - 2 ¾ inches.
Adjustable option ¾ - 5 ¾ inches

Roll-Belt™ 450, 460 & 550 Round Balers feature all new
pickups as well as several other design improvements that will
enhance not only performance, but also the reliability to increase
your productivity and profitability; See the key changes below!
Operator Safety Operator safety is paramount to New Holland. In addition to properly shielded
drives and warning alert decals, the Roll-Belt 450, Roll-Belt 460, and Roll-Belt 550
Round Balers come standard equipped with the following safety equipment:
- Two, rear mount, yellow flashing hazard lights
- Two, rear mount, red combination tail/brake lights
- A safety transport chain with locking hook, for road transport
A positive, mechanical action, (pull straight down to release, move rearward to lock,
forward to unlock) hydraulic tailgate lockout valve, located at the left side
of the baler, is used whenever routine maintenance or service work is needed
with the tailgate raised.
Hitch
NEW, adjustable clevis hitch allows for greater flexibility to match different tractor
drawbar heights. •2” difference between lower and upper hitch mount positions
•Provides additional flexibility to improve crop feeding over the pickup.

Roll-Belt™ 450 & 460 Feeder Assembly
NEW, Super Feed™ 1.8M width pickup, equipped with a new rotary feeder, (non-cutter);
with a choice of either 5 solid steel, segmented tine bars with 140 curved, 6 mm rubber
mount tines; or 4 tubular steel tine bars with 112 new curved, 5 mm steel tines.
The Roll-Belt 550 Round Baler uses one pickup assembly: Standard 1.5M width
Super Sweep™ Pickup, equipped with 6, tubular steel tine bars, and 144 curved,
4.8 mm steel tines

Improved Pickup Tines
•Pickup tines are 5mm steel, 5 coil design, and shot peened after formation for
stress relief. •New design provides 24% improved front-to-back bending strength,
improving durability over prior design. Side to side thickness is increased to 6%
more than current tine thickness. •Improves overall pickup performance, and
allows efficient gathering of a wide variety of crops.
ActiveSweep™ Pickup Assembly
Overshot Feeder - NEW design - combines feeder and augers on one common
shaft, to move crop 20% more efficiently from the pickup into the bale formation
area. Roll-Belt 450 and Roll-Belt 460 Round Balers equipped with the
ActiveSweep™ pickup assembly will come equipped with a 1.8M width pickup.
The customer will have a choice of selecting either the heavy-duty 5 tinebar
or standard-duty 4 tinebar pickup reel.
Feed Augers

ActiveSweep™ Pickup Assembly
Pickup Flares - Redesigned pickup end flares (1) improve the crop feeding ability
from the ends of the pickup. This improvement reduces the potential for crop
pinching from interference by the pickup gauge wheels as it feeds into the pickup.

Roller Windguard - A roller windguard is an option for the 1.8M Hay ActiveSweep™
pickup, and is standard for 1.8M ActiveSweep Silage Specials and Bale-Slice™
pickup assemblies. A new design allows the windguard assembly to freely pivot up
and down. The tine assembly can also freely pivot within a secondary slot range,
providing the tine and windguard assemblies the ability to consistently control the
crop. The roller is now formed from a steel tube, welded with steel rods for
improved durability and performance. Two-position, roller mount brackets provide
additional adjustment to match a wide range of crop conditions.
Two types of quick-adjust gauge wheels are also available. Straight arm wheels (1) attach
to the pickup and ride closely to the pickup ends. Height adjustment is made by simply
removing one lynchpin, re-positioning the adjustment arm on the pin, then re-installing
the lynchpin. 4.80-4.00x8, pneumatic tires are featured.
The Roll-Belt 450, Roll-Belt 460, and Roll-Belt 550 Round Balers incorporate additional
enhancements to improve belt performance. The backwrap roll (1) has been relocated
lower and farther forward under the apron drive roll, improving belt wrap around the roll.
This design increases the surface area contact between the belt and roll, improving driving
efficiency and reducing belt slippage in certain crops. A new, replaceable wear plate,
made of ¼” thick, aus-tempered steel has been added to the sledge roll frame to improve
wear resistance of the frame. The plate is bolted in and can be easily replaced as needed.
20% Increase in Belt Driving Power*
Premium Laced Belts New, premium laced belts are available for the Roll-Belt 460, and
Roll-Belt 550 Round Balers. These new belts incorporate a unique, rotocured
manufacturing process to maintain constant heat and pressure to the belt during
manufacture. This process eliminates the possibility of many belt flaws which can occur
during a traditional manufacturing process. The new belt construction improves
adhesion between plies, resulting in tougher, more durable belts that resist delamination. The construction also improves belt tensile strength by 20%, puncture
resistance, and side-to-side stiffness, while still maintaining overall flexibility. This
provides a superior laced belt that tracks well and won’t fail.
New, low-profile Alligator® rivet fasteners, with new Duralink™ flexible pins are used
with these belts. The low profile fastener design reduces bending stress between the
belt and fastener. The Duralink pins use a new, flexible, high tensile stainless steel core
with an improved outer covering to extend pin and fastener life.
Bale Formation
Left and right bale fill sensors are standard equipment on all Roll-Belt 450, Roll-Belt 460,
and Roll-Belt 550 Round Balers. The sensors are positioned on the bale chamber sides, to
accurately measure bale fill in real time as the bale is formed. The sensors now use a new,
heat-treated arm made of 3/8” thick plate steel in place of the prior leaf spring, improving
wear resistance and overall durability. Sensor readouts for relative left/right bale size are
displayed in the monitor as bar graphs. Bar graph sensitivity can also be adjusted from the
monitor for varying crop volumes and baling conditions.
Bale Density
During initial core formation, bale density on all balers is regulated with coil springs
located on each side of the baler. On the Roll-Belt 450 and 460 Round Balers, as the bale
reaches approximately 24” diameter, an adjustable pressure, sealed hydraulic cylinder
with an assist spring takes over and regulates the bale density through the remainder of
the bale formation process. The Model Roll-Belt 550 Roll-Belt Round Baler uses dual,
sealed hydraulic cylinders to regulate bale density after initial core formation. On the
model Roll-Belt 450, 460 & 550 Roll-Belt Round Balers, bale density pressure is manually
adjusted by means of the density pressure valve, (1). The density pressure can be viewed
from the tractor through the calibrated pressure gauge, (2), located at the front of the
baler. The calibrated pressure gauge is used on all models, and provides the operator
with the ability to repeat pressure settings for specific crops or conditions, making it
easier to optimize consistent bale density over a wide range of crops.
Crop infeed discs (2) are now standard equipment on all model Roll-Belt 450 and RollBelt 460 Roll-Belt Round Balers, a dealer installed option on the model Roll-Belt 550
Round Baler. Infeed discs reduce power consumption by pushing the bale away from the
side sheet to reduce bale sidewall friction in the chamber.
Net Wrap
The Roll-Belt 450, Roll-Belt 460, and Roll-Belt 550 Round Balers introduce several
improvements to the bale wrapping systems, including:

o NEW center pivot, dual twine tubes replaces the dual twin arm system from the prior series;
Applies right side end wraps and then moves back across the bale to the left side to apply left side
end wraps, then the twine is cut with one knife; Electric motor replaces the actuator for twine arm
control to give a consistent wrap pattern from left to right with no large gap in the center twines; Twine
spacing is controlled by a simple pin adjustment to spread the twine tubes apart for wider spacing or
closer together for narrow spacing; Preset or custom wrap patterns and end wrap distance for the bale
edge are all set from the monitor. SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT; Twine tube contacts the arm at the twine
