Tuesday, December 9 The next Adult Fellowship trip… We will have lunch and a special program at Balsam Mountain Inn Praying... From Dr. Prince... RECENTLY HOSPITALIZED Ginny Small This week, we wrap up our teaching unit “The Heart of It All” by thinking about “Shall Have Eternal Life.” This exploration of John 3:16 has been a great experience, and Christi Huskison will bring the final message in the series. Please pray for all our worship services this coming Sunday, and come ready to learn about eternal life! On November 30, we’re starting a new teaching unit titled “Advent at the Movies!” In this unit, we’re going to think about ways in which Advent themes of God’s hope are reflected in popular Christmas movies and TV specials. The messages in the series will be: “It’s a Wonderful Life!” (A Cry for Help!) “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (Good News!) “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” (The Messiah’s Mission) “Miracle on 34th Street” (An Everlasting Kingdom) Be sure to be with us each Sunday, as we’ll see how these films reflect teachings about Christ’s coming! This coming Sunday, November 23, at 7:00 p.m., we’ll host our Community Thanksgiving Service. The churches of downtown Waynesville, including First United Methodist, First Presbyterian, Grace Episcopal, St. John’s Catholic, and us sponsor and plan this service. We’ll have representatives from each church involved in this service, and I will bring the message. Our offering this year will go to the new Haywood Pathways center at the old prison. Nick Honerkamp, pastor at New Covenant Church, will tell us about this ministry. After this service, we’ll have a reception for all our churches in our Family Life Center. Since we’re hosting it, we ask you to bring cookies to serve our guests. Thanks so much for helping! Remember that Bethlehem Marketplace is coming up soon, on December 13. Please pray for this effort, and come work in it! If you can help in any way, please contact Dan Smith in the church office! See you Sunday! UPCOMING HEART CATH.
