English Summary
Torild Hammer & Per Vaglum: Unge kvinners drikkemønster, medikamentbruk og bruk av cannabis i Norge (Young women's drinking patterns, use of medicaments and cannabis in N orway)
The drinking patterns of young women differ from alcohol usage by older women in Norway. Som e have
adopted a new feminine drinking pattern and some a
masculine drinking pattern. This applies particularly to
women hashish users, among whom the masculine drinking pattern dominates. Young women who do not
themselves use hashish but move in hashish circles and
have thems elves been offered hashish may be regarded
182
as arisk group likely to succumb to hashish. They drink
about three times as much as other women. Women hashish users do not drink any more alcohol than those in
the risk group, but they drink in another way, since most
of the women hashish users have a masculine drinking
pattern. Women hashish users do, however, consume far
more psycho-pharmaceuticals than other women. This
ean to some ex ten t be bIarned on the higher incidence of
psychic problems among women using hashish but also
shows that the use of medicaments among young people
is linked with environments where illegal intoxicants are
used.
