For most of us at Galilee, Thanksgiving
is one of the best times of year. We are
accustomed to being thankful all year
because God has been so very good to
our congregation. But it is especially
nice to set time aside each year in a
Holiday that hasn’t quite yet become too
commercial and express our deep
gratitude to our Heavenly Father.
Our next two sermons have that spirit in

Galilee family,
I wanted to take a minute to address you as Paul often addressed the
congregations he wrote to. He expressed in all of his letters his thankfulness for
their faithfulness, even in letters where he wrote with disciplinary words or
strong correction, he always included words of thanksgiving. I want to thank all
of you at Galilee for your faithfulness! During this season of thanksgiving it is
my prayer that you know you are loved and appreciated. Our family is so
blessed to get to serve alongside such faithful Christians.
The Lord has blessed us richly and we are immensely excited for the plans He
has for our future. If we remain united around our mission of advancing the
Gospel making disciples and serving all . . . then there is nothing we can’t
accomplish for the Kingdom! May you and your family be blessed
and may you collectively return thanks to the One who is the
author of every good, and perfect gift. (James 1:17)

our staff at Galilee working as our new financial
secretary.
She has been training alongside
Brenda Segars who retires soon after 18 years of
secretarial work for our church.

Dr. Freddy Martin travels to our ministry in
Central Mexico, Bethshean Mexico Mission,
February 18 to 27 providing medical care as an
outreach for Christ. Would you be interested in going
to help? There is non-medical work needed, too.

R.J. Mershon Completes Youth Ministry Internship
Unless you work with our youth ministry, you may never have seen RJ. You missed
something special. We will miss this bright young man and the love and assistance
he brought while working with Brian LaRue since September. He is a real blessing.
RJ has been considering taking up the challenge of more college education and
beginning the strenuous work to become a minister specializing with youth. He just
wasn’t positive God was leading him this way. Well, we at Galilee know no one
better for him to learn alongside than Brian. All of our staff had a great time getting to
know RJ and influencing him as we could, too. Our youth took it easy on him—just
kidding! We have the greatest students.
We wish RJ God’s very best as he returns to his home in Florida. O yes, we almost
forgot to mention. RJ has decided to become a youth minister.
Serve the City takes applications for service!
Volunteers will team up in Spring 2015 to tackle projects large and small
across our county to serve the people of Jackson County. Galilee
Christian Church and our Serve the City project’s goal is to reach out
and impact in a powerful way. Help us find ways to serve others in
Jesus’ Name.
All projects must be small enough for a team to complete in four hours
or less. Each individual or business should provide materials needed,
however scholarships can be available on a very limited basis.

Recently, members of Galilee’s Handbell Ensemble played as part of Braselton’s community tree
lighting service. Our congregation’s bell ringers are always requested by the city and this year
almost 1000 attended the event. During the evening, several of our ringers were approached with
requests for more information about Galilee. This community outreach is great fun and we never
know how God will use it. Thanks, Ringers. You represent our church and Lord well.
Sunday, December 14, Galilee’s Worship Center will be adorned with
poinsettias given to our church in honor or in memory of friends and
loved ones. Each beautiful poinsettia is $8.
Place your order at our welcome desks or by mail to our church office
by December 1st.

The Christmas Cottage
Don’t Miss Our Grand Opening Saturday, November 22!
Bring your family and have some fun in a relaxed,
safe Christian environment with THE Santa and
Mrs. Claus. Have your picture taken and get a
4x6 print for just $5.00. Got any furry, four-legged
family members? Santa loves to have his picture
taken with them, too. In the spirit of Christmas
and as a learning experience, Santa asks each
child to bring a can or package of food for
Jefferson’s Food Bank when they visit.

Thanksgiving Brunch
Preschool Chapel is Tuesday, November 25 at 11:00 AM and
following that is our Thanksgiving Brunch in fellowship hall.
Our menu is sausage and egg casserole, grits, fresh fruit and
pumpkin bread. Galilee preschool has so much for which to be
to be thankful and we hope all families can attend Tuesday to
help us express our thankfulness.
