German Historical Institute London (GHIL) Transnational Research Group (TRG) and Manipal Centre for Philosophy & Humanities (MCPH) National Workshop on Caste, Experience and Poverty of Education: Perspectives from South India The objective of the workshop is to develop a conceptual framework for understanding the intersecting domains of caste practices and practices of knowledge production. The workshop will deal with the different aspects of experience and knowing in relation to caste, both in the institutional context and in the daily life practices from the region of South India. These issues will be discussed in relation to various models of knowledge transfer including modern school education and informal methods of exchanges. Date: December 8th and 9th, 2014 Venue: Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Dr TMA Pai Planetarium Complex, Manipal University.
