NOTICE OF RACE
1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by:
1.1. The rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.2013 - 2016,
1.2. National authority prescriptions will apply to foreign teams as stated in Annex "Prescriptions"
1.3. FFV regulations,
1.4. F18 class rules,
1.5. If there is a conflict between languages the French text will take precedence
2. ADVERTISING
Advertising shall conform to the current ISAF Regulation 20 and modification from FFV advertising
regulations. Boats may be required to display d advertising chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority
3. EGIBILTY AND REGISTRATION
3.1. The regatta is open to Formula 18 Catamaran boats.
Each team wishing to enter the Saint Barth Cata Cup shall register on line by completing the
registration form:
Between Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at 6:00 pm (French time), 12:00 (noon) local time,
And Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 6:00 pm (French time), 12:00 (noon) local time,
An acknowledgment will be sent by email.
A random draw will be conducted under a bailiff according to the quotas of Article 3.1.1
between April 20th and April 30th.
The official 60 boats entry list will be announced on April 30th, 2014 on the St Barth Cata
Cup 2014 website.
Registration will be confirmed upon receipt by the SBMH of payment of the registration fee
by bank transfer no later than May 15th, 2014. A registration confirmation will be sent by
email. Beyond this date, your place will be re-distributed.
Registration includes:
- Round trip boat transportation from Rouen, Toulon, Miami or Point A Pitre.
- Accommodation for team on twin room basis as defined by event organization.
- A rental car on a 2 teams per car basis
- St Barth Cata Cup 2014 event registration
- Opening cocktail

3.1.1. The number of boats allowed to enter the event is limited to 60 boats on the following
distribution:
• 10 boats from France. If there is some place left by April 20th, they will be
reallocating to EUROPE slots outside France.
• 15 boats from EUROPE outside France, distribution to more nations in proportion to
the number of practitioners enrolled in the class nation. If there is some place left by
April 20th, they will be reallocating to FRANCE slots outside EUROPE.
(2 containers from Rouen and 1 container from Toulon)
• 20 boats for CARIBBEAN ISLANDS - AMERICAS & others part of the Worlds,
allocated to the largest countries and Antilles « area ».
(1 container from Miami and 1 container from Pointe à Pitre)
• 15 « Wild Cards » will be allocated by the event organization.
If quotas are not filled by April 20th, 2014, the choice will be up to the organization.
3.2. Are entitle to enter the event:
French sailors with a valid FFVoile license and foreign sailors with a proof that they are
members of their national Authorities. All sailors shall be part of their national class
association.
Under 18 years old sailor may be allowed to race only if having an FFVoile license or member
of it national authority and part of a team having an adult in charge of the team.
3.3. Sailors shall be part of a team for the duration of the event.
3.4. The organizing authority reserves the right to refuse registration and justify its decision in
accordance with RCV76.1.
3.4.1. Re-right boat: The crew shall be able to re-right the boat and may be asked to demonstrate
their ability to do so.
3.5. Each team shall provide at the registration:
- For French sailor a valid license FFVoile with medical stamp,
- For foreign sailors, a proof that they are members of their national Authorities, National
authority shall be part of ISAF.
- If necessary the advertising authorization from their National authority
- Measurement certificate
- Safety equipment
4. ENTRY FEES FOR SAILORS
Entry fee per sailor is 425 € which means 850 € per team.
The entry fees is including a 25 € member ship to the SAINT BARTH MULTIHULL association.
Entries fees have to be paid no later than May 15th, 2014.
Entry fees includes:
- Round trip boat transportation from Rouen, Toulon, Miami or Pointe à Pitre.
- Accommodation for team on twin room basis as defined by event organization.
- A rental car on a 2 teams per car basis
- St Barth Cata Cup 2014 registration

No refund will be made for cancellation after the August 1st, 2014; prior to this date the event
organization may request a medical certificate to refund non-entering team.

A sailor briefing is organized each sailing day 30minutes prior to the starting signal of the day. Time
and briefing location will be posted the day before no later than 08:00PM. A team member from each
boat shall attend this briefing.
6. MEASUREMNT
Some equipment measurements may be organizes prior to registration by measurer on the spot by
booking measurement slots. Contact Christophe Lhinares: [email protected].
(Reminder: A valid measurement certificate is mandatory to enter the event item 3.6)
Only boats presenting a valid F18 measurement certificate may enter the event.
Unexpected Controls will be organized by the race Committee.
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions and annexes will be available at registration the 19th of November 2014.
8. RACE COURSES
The races courses will be presented during the briefing of the day and posted on the official notice
board. It is recommended that each team representative attending the briefing is having a SHOM St
Barthélemy chart including marks used as natural rounding marks.
9. RANKING
1 race is necessary to validate the event.
9.1.
10. RADION COMMUNICATIONS
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio
communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

11. SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
• Minimum safety equipment required on board each boat:
• 1 towing rope fixed in position, 15 meters length and 5 mm diameter minimum,
• 1 re-righting rope in position, 4 meters long and 10 mm diameter minimum,
• 2 personal flotation devices approved "CEE" or in line with maritime regulations,
• 1 VHF radio fully in use,
• 1 mirror,
• 2 individual waterproof flashing lights fixed on the flotation device
• GPS,
• Mobil phone,
Any team having safety equipment missing during the event may be disqualified from the event.
Each safety equipment shall be presented at registration.
12. PRIZES
Prizes will be offered during the prize giving ceremonies on Sunday the 23 of November at 07:00PM.
A party will be organized after prize giving ceremony.
13. RESPONSABILITIES
Competitors entering in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Decision to Race or to continue racing is
the sole decision of the teams. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material
damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the
regatta.
14. INSURANCES
Foreign competitors not having a valid license must present a valid liability insurance contract with a
minimum coverage of € 2,5 million. All foreign competitors not able to provide the required insurance
will have to necessarily fulfill the RC foreign insurance proposed by the organization.
15. RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS
By participating in the event a competitor automatically grants to the organizers and its sponsors the
right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures
and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of him or her during the period of the
"Saint Barth Cata Cup" event without any compensation.

16.1 SBMH is in charge of boat transportation but will not take any responsibility in case of delays
or strikes linked with maritime transportation.
16.2 Departure From St Barthélemy: Loading on Monday the 24th of November 2014 from 07:00
to 18:00PM
16.3 Event organization will insure accommodation from Monday 17th of November until
Tuesday 25th of November 2014 including 8 nights and:
• Housing based on twin room in hotel, house or home resident in Saint Barth or boat.
Room is booked for team (helmsman and crew). When a member of the team is joining with
guest, the second team member will share room with other single team member.
• Car is booked for 2 teams (4 persons) excluding guests
The organization declines any accommodation responsibility outside defined dates.
16.4 For guest joining the event with teams, the event organization is offering:
• A 130 € special rate per guest and per night including local taxes from Monday 17th of
November until Tuesday 25th of November representing 8 nights within the limits of
availabilities. The term guest is covering women or spouse of teammate.

Annexes Prescriptions of the Federation Française de Voile
Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016
Applying to foreign competitors
RRS 64.3
FFVoile Prescription (*):
The jury may ask the parties to the protest, prior to checking procedures, a deposit covering the cost of checking
arising from a protest concerning class rules.
RRS 67
FFVoile Prescription (*):
Any question about or request of damages arising from an incident involving a boat bound by the Racing Rules
of Sailing or International Regulation to Prevent Collision at Sea depends on the appropriate courts and will not
be dealt by the jury.
RRS 70. 5
FFVoile Prescription (*):
In such circumstances, the written approval of the Federation Française de Voile shall be received before
publishing the notice of race and shall be posted on the official notice board during the event.
RRS 78
FFVoile Prescription (*):
The boat’s owner or other person in charge shall, under his sole responsibility, make sure moreover that his boat
comply with the equipment and security rules required by the laws, by-laws and regulations of the
Administration.
RRS 86.3
FFVoile Prescription (*):
An organizing authority wishing to change a rule listed in RRS 86.1 in order to develop or test new rules shall
first submit the changes to the FFVoile, in order to obtain its written approval and shall report the results to
FFVoile after the event. Such authorization shall be mentioned in the notice of race and in the sailing instructions
and shall be posted on the official notice board during the event.
RRS 88
FFVoile Prescription (*):
Prescriptions of the FFVoile shall be neither changed nor deleted in the notice of race and sailing instructions,
except for events for which an international jury has been appointed.
In such case, the prescriptions marked with an asterisk (*) shall be neither changed nor deleted in the notice of
race and sailing instructions. (The official translation of the prescriptions, downloadable on the FFVoile website
www.ffvoile.fr, shall be the only translation used to comply with RRS 90.2(b)).
RRS 91
FFVoile Prescription (*):
The appointment of an international jury meeting the requirements of Appendix N is subject to prior written
approval of the Federation Française de Voile. Such notice of approval shall be posted on the official notice
board during the event.
