Background for visit Statoil has had offices in Abu Dhabi since 2007 and has a goal of establishing business activity in the country. Statoil is contributing to the new Petroleum Institute Research Center in the core flooding laboratory with a medical CT scanner and more; similar to the setup at Statoil Research Center Rotvoll. Approximately 15 delegations from Abu Dhabi have been to Norway on visits facilitated by Statoil. A MoU is previously signed between PI and NTNU, and this meeting is to look into possible areas for future collaboration between PI and NTNU. Possible areas for collaboration, based on the presentations of NTNU and PI Possible activities • Faculty o Sabbatical stays o Guest lectures, both on site and remote o Reciprocal visits and stays o Capacity building • Education Master student education at NTNU (admission in April, no tuition in Norway) Co-‐supervision of master student thesis work Contributing into course development Continued/focused education for junior engineers in ADNOC and affiliated companies (e.g. within reservoir engineering) o Field course/trip to Abu Dhabi for students from NTNU and PI Research o PhD (continuous admission, no tuition but salary, living costs and indirect costs must be covered) o Possible common projects o
