She was born in Philadelphia on October 26,
1918, raised by REBA and ABRAHAM FELDMAN. NEVA was a graduate of Overbrook
High School. Wife of the late REUBEN DENKER, and mother of the late BARRY HOWARD DENKER. She is survived by her daughter RHEA and daughter-in-law BETSY.
She was an unconditional source of pride and
love for her grandsons and their families.

She spent many years volunteering to raise
funds for special needs children. NEVA was
a Grey Lady at Kennedy Hospital working in
the nursery as "mom-mom" to all newborns.
She gave her time to be a Valley School
Reading Buddy, listening patiently as a second grade child curled up next to her to share
the latest story they had learned to read. She
also volunteered in their school library.
In 1960, the family moved into NEVA'S
dream house in Pine Valley. She enjoyed
decorating and spent hours in the garden. A
fabulous hostess, weekends found her and
REUBEN entertaining friends and family on
the back lawn. In 1973, with their children
grown and out on their own, they moved into
Center City. She enjoyed all that the city had
to offer - season tickets to the Walnut, Shubert, Academy of Music, and Philly Pops.
She volunteered her time to the Philadelphia
Horticultural Society where she loved helping
to make cranberry garland to decorate the
trees on Washington Square in true colonial
tradition and feed the birds through winter.
NEVA and REUBEN moved to Wyncote, PA to
join many of their close friends. She loved
dressing up for Saturday night parties at Cedarbrook Country Club. At 65, she started
successfully managing a ladies boutique and
worked there until she retired at 85. She
made her last relocation back to the city to
live with her daughter, RHEA, in Queen Village. She was back in the city she loved and
quickly befriended neighbors and shopkeepers along her walking routes who affectionately referred to her as "Mom".

WEBER
ROSE WEBER, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, died on May
17, 2012, six days before her 93rd birthday, a
victim of an automobile accident while doing
an exercise walk outside the Saltzman House
in Cherry Hill, NJ. ROSE was the loving
daughter of immigrant parents, Israel and
FANNIE MOZIFF. She married THEODORE
WEBER in 1938 and worked by his side in
their grocery stores until they retired in 1982.
Together, they raised three sons. ROSE was a
den mother to Cub Scout Pack 195, an active
participant in her sons' activities and a community volunteer in patterning children with
Cerebral Palsy, Polio and Muscular Dystrophy. ROSE and TED were longtime members
of Beth Am Israel in southwest Philadelphia
and, for the past 35 years, of Congregation
Beth El in Cherry Hill. ROSE was an active
member of the Sisterhoods of both synagogues, Hadassah, and sisterhood representative to the Jewish Community Relations
Council of Southern NJ. ROSE was a founding member of Beth El's Hazak, an organization providing social and educational programs and events to congregants 55 and
older. She became a Bat Mitzvah at the age of
88. While in South Jersey, she was an active
member of the Woodcrest Civic Association.
Six years after her beloved TED died; ROSE
moved into the Saltzman House and became
a friend to everyone. She was the leader of
the Yiddish Club, welcomed new neighbors/
residents and was a member of the Saltzman
Social Club Steering Committee. She won the
“Volunteer of the Year” award after living
there for just 1 1/2 years. ROSE was an active
participant at the Jewish Community Center
of Southern New Jersey, enjoying the many
social, educational and cultural events. On
many days, she was the oldest participant in
the exercise room and she loved attending
lectures, concerts, theater and the arts. In her
late 80s, she joined the technological world
and learned how to email, actively sending
comments and ideas to politicians, actors,
friends and family. In the past year, she had a
Facebook page so she could stay involved in
the lives of her family and friends. ROSE was
married to the late THEODORE WEBER for 58
years and the devoted mother of MARVIN
(SUSAN) WEBER, JACK (CECILE) WEBER,
BARRY WEBER and JAN WEBER. She

“Double Bubby Rose” to 11 great grandchildren - SOPHIE, HARRISON, HANNAH,
SARAH, TARA, GABRIELLE, ASHLEY,
JONAH, DYLAN, OLIVIA AND MOLLIE. At the
time of her tragic death, she was the
matriarch to 26 Webers who loved her dearly
and will miss her everyday. Contributions in

MEMORIALS
Judaism isn’t just what we believe, or the prayers we recite or the laws we
observe. It’s also about the way we live. How we interact with others. The
values we practice. The customs and traditions we embrace and pass down,
from one generation to the next.
“My father has taught me – as his
father taught him – that Kedushah
(holiness) alone isn’t enough. A
Jewish life requires a passion for
social justice, a devotion to
community service and a
commitment to tzedakah. The
principles of service and charity
passed from generation to generation
kindle my involvement in such causes as Golden Slipper Club
& Charities, Hillel of Greater Philadelphia and American Associates of
Ben-Gurion University. They also inspire me to help ease the pain, stress and
anxiety felt by others, especially at a time of great personal loss.
L’dor, V’dor. It’s who we are. It’s what I am. Now in its fifth generation of
family ownership, Joseph Levine & Sons continues to ensure that the
memories of our loved ones live on in our hearts.”

It is past one year my darling SUSAN
since you left me and your brother JOEL.
We miss your beautiful smile, even when you
had your discomforts; your Hadassah friends
remembering your 2-year presidency;
also your Monday-get-together friends
creating your scrapbook pictures of your
family so that your sons would enjoy seeing
the many pictures of your devoted years.
As my eyes close each night, your smiling
and beautiful face is before me and I thank
you for the brief fifty-two years
I had you in my life.
You are loved and missed by all
Rest in peace
