Orenthia Mason, eulogist, and the Rev. Charles E. Faulks officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors of Tyler. Visit Gift Shop Send Sympathy Flowers - ADVERTISEMENT - Mr. Lister died Oct. 20, 2011, in Fort Worth. He was born May 5, 1952, in Henderson to the parentage of Calesta Johnson Anderson and the late William Howard Lister Sr. As a boy, Michael was a Boy Scout and worked in the church as a junior deacon. Michael graduated from Emmett J. Scott High School in 1970 and was a much sought-after escort for many debutantes, locally, as well as out of town. He attended Prairie View A&M University for two years and was then drafted in the United States Army. After an honorable discharge, Michael worked at Texas Instruments, Dallas, for an extended period of time. He later worked for Otis Engineering in Carrollton. When Michael moved to Arlington he would gain successful employment with Hydra Rig of Fort Worth for 21 years. Michael was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington where he participated in the Male Chorus, Bible Institute and Prison Ministry. Michael is survived by his mother, Calesta Johnson Anderson; sisters, Selma Joan Lister, Robyn A. Norman; brother, William H. Lister Jr.; stepdaughter, Nicole Black and Melissa Gardner (Marcus); and extended family.
