MEMORIAL DAY
PROGRAM
Through our Home Delivered Meals
Program, lunch is delivered Monday
There will be a Memorial Day through Friday to seniors who are unprogram on May 23rd at 11am able to leave home except for medical
in the dining room. All Veterans attention.
will be recognized during the
program however the focus of
the program will be on those
who are no longer with us or
passed away in the service of
our country. All Veterans are
encouraged to attend and participate.
We currently need volunteers to deliver
the meals to homebound seniors. Volunteers use their own vehicles to deliver meals on our 14 routes in the
county. McDowell County pays a mileage reimbursement to our Home Delivered Meals volunteers.
It usually takes 1 hour to 1&½ hours to
deliver on each route. The meals are
ready to be picked up for delivery at the
Senior Center at 11 am each day Monday through Friday. We like each of
our volunteers to go one day a week
and be able to substitute if another
driver is out.
If you are interested in delivering meals
to help serve a homebound senior,
please call 828-659-0821.
