Patmore, Esq., late of Demerara, to Georgiana, youngest daughter of the late Rev. Edward Andrews,
LL.D., of Walworth, Surrey. – Times, April 11.
The funeral of the late Mr. Wm. Patrick, of 78 First-avenue, Mt. Lawley, took place in the Presbyterian
section of the Karrakatta Cemetery on June 27. The late Mr. Patrick had a varied and interesting
career. A native of Scotland, he went as a young man to Boston, U.S.A., and later to British Guiana.
There he found himself at the age of 21, on account of his ability and engineering skill, managing a
large sugar estate and mills employing 1,500 natives. A bad attack of fever decided him to give up a
lucrative appointment and return to his native land. [long article follows]
