Working with acrylic involves doing a lot of things such as cutting, drilling, polishing and

Flame polishing
One of the ways that you can work with acrylic is by flame polishing it. In case you cut a piece of
clear acrylic but it still looks frosty, you can flam polish it to give it a clearer look. It will not
easy at first and you have to keep practicing. You can melt the edges by simply brushing the
flame. It will give them a polished appearance.The only thing you have to do is make sure that to
only polish areas that you want to glue.By doing so, you will
avoid stress of sticking surfaces that you did not want to glue.
Cutting
You can use plastic scoring blade to make straight cut in your
gold acrylic mirror. Make sure that the blade is facing towards
you and leave a score guide. You should score the acrylic a
number of times on the same line. Once you are done, you should place your acrylic on the table
and snap the pieces into two. There are also other ways that you can use to cut acrylic using
tools like table saw, band saw and jigsaw. The tools have high tooth count cutting blade. These

Gluing
Solvent based glues are the most popular in gluing opal acrylic tubing.Gluing the material will
soften it and bonds the two pieces together.If you want to glue using solvent glue, then all you
have to do is just squeeze the bottle and apply it on the edge of the acrylic.Put the glue where the
two pieces meet. You can also squeeze the applicator lightly and pull the pieces towards you.You
can also join the pieces using capillary action. All you have to do is just make sure that you pay
attention when gluing to avoid any unnecessary mistakes.
Drilling
Drilling is one of the ways to use acrylic. Drilling acrylic with wood drill bit, you will only crack
it. In case it is a thin sheet, you need to use a step drill.If you are working on a thick piece, then
you can use conventional drill bits.
