NOTICEBOARDTV WAITING ROOM & RECEPTION SCREEN SOFTWARE Improving the waiting experience Waiting for a clinic appointment can be a stressful time for patients. A waiting room information screen could help you to keep patients informed with up-to-date news about wait times and delays while relieving pressure on the reception desk. We have been providing waiting room and reception information screens since 2006 and have considerable experience in creating display systems for hospitals and clinics. Health promotion Information Involvement Many hospitals devote considerable resources in promoting preventive health care to patients. But keeping up the good work is quite an onerous task. Waiting room leaflets and notices need to be reprinted and can make a waiting room look cluttered. With all of the changes taking place within health care, it is more important than ever to develop effective and clear channels of communication with patients. A waiting room screen allows you to keep patients up to speed with the latest developments while they wait for appointments. Modern health care is directed more and more towards patient choice and it is becoming increasingly important for providers to present a good public image. A professionally designed information screen allows you to tell patients about your approach to their care. A waiting room information screen is the perfect medium for your health campaigns because it has a more immediate impact than printed material and Information can be updated instantly with the minimum investment of time and resources. Unlike notices or handouts, screen content can be updated instantly, helping you with the vital tasks of explaining changes and encouraging patients to take up new services as they become available. Many hospital clinics have a problem in keeping patients informed about waiting times and delays to appointments. A screen can provide up to the minute information and involve patients by letting them know immediately if there going to be delays. Reduce missed appointments Promote health campaigns Provide real-time information Promote infection control systems Solicit patient feedback and comments on services NoticeBoardTv Ltd, Didcot Enterprise Centre, Southmead Industrial Park, Didcot OX11 7PH 01635 88 11 88 www.noticeboardtv.com NOTICEBOARDTV WAITING ROOM & RECEPTION SCREEN SOFTWARE Screen display software that puts you in control Our display software takes the pain out of creating professional-looking content for your waiting room screen. The user-friendly control panel gives you direct access to all screen content as well as a library of graphics and photographs to lend sparkle to your screen presentations. Our design team can source images for you to cover any topic and we can design custom graphics if required. You can also add your own images. The software delivers content to the screen via an Internet connection. This means that all messages on the screen are live and can be updated instantly. It also means that you can access the system from any computer connected to the Internet by logging on to your password-protected control panel. Support Configuration Screen layout We provide a full support service which includes training as well as telephone and online support in using the software. We are always available to provide advice and suggestions to help you get the best out of your information screen. We can install the software to cover any configuration of screens from a single or twoscreen set-up to a multiple site system with local and/or centralised control of screen content and messages. Our standard screen layout is split into three sections. We ensure that screens are operating properly by monitoring them in real time and can log in directly to your system to fix any problems as soon as they appear on our control system. Live screen content updates instantly Easy-to-use control panel Access from any computer The right-hand side allows you to display longer messages in sequence alongside photographs or graphic images. The left-hand section displays short video presentations selected from a library which comes with the software package. Topics covered include general health advice and specific NHS campaigns. We constantly update and expand this material and our design team will always respond to requests for additions to the library. The bottom section of the screen is reserved for shorter messages to allow for quick reminders. There is no limit on the number of messages that can be displayed on the screen. It’s as simple as that. Many of our clients already have their own screen set up but we can provide advice and recommendations if you are about to purchase any equipment. Our software is easy to install and we provide full support in getting everything up and running on your system. Equipment guide Our screen display software runs on most standard equipment. This guide will help you decide what sort of set-up you might need. Please feel free to contact us for advice. Computer Broadband Screen The software will run on any Windows desktop PC with Windows XP or any later operating system. The computer needs to be dedicated to outputting the screen display and should be located no more than 10 meters from the screen. You do not need to install any extra broadband connections to run the software. The screen display uses very little bandwidth and will run perfectly provided your broadband service has a reasonable download speed. The most important requirement is that the screen should be capable of displaying a computer input. Most consumer flat screen televisions as well as specialist display screens list computer input in their technical specifications. There are a number options for locating the computer so that it is not visible and we will be happy to advise you on this. You could also consider using a mini computer which can be attached to the back of the screen. Simple plug and play technology No special equipment required Plays on any screen size The size of screen needs to be compatible with the size of the room where it will be mounted. We recommend a 40 or 43 inch screen for most waiting rooms but you might need a smaller or larger screen for a particular location. The size of the screen makes no difference to the sharpness of the display but, obviously, a larger screen can be read from a greater distance. We can advise on the best type of mounting bracket for any screen. NoticeBoardTv Ltd, Didcot Enterprise Centre, Southmead Industrial Park, Didcot OX11 7PH 01635 88 11 88 www.noticeboardtv.com NOTICEBOARDTV WAITING ROOM & RECEPTION SCREEN SOFTWARE Equipment set-up Our software will run on any PC (minimum spec 1.8 GB processor and 2 GB of RAM) with any version of Windows. Where it is possible to hide the computer behind a wall, or on a high shelf, the simplest and cheapest set-up is to use a standard desktop (an old PC or reconditioned model will do the job perfectly well). The computer needs to connect to the screen via a standard VGA cable. Please note: you might get loss of image quality if the VGA cable from the computer to the screen is longer than 10 meters. A neater, but slightly more expensive, set-up requires a mini-PC such as an Acer Veriton which can be placed in the space behind the screen on the wall. This set-up has two advantages - no trailing wires and the computer is out of sight and can not be reached easily. Whatever computer you use for your screen display, it will need to be connected to your broadband Internet service. We recommend using a wired connection (CAT5) to deliver the broadband to the screen computer. This will guarantee that your screen display will run without interruption. If you have a spare data socket near to the computer location, we can advise you how to patch an Internet connection to it from your network panel. Where a wired connection is not practical, a wireless connection will work in most situations provided it can deliver a strong signal at the computer location. Equipment sourcing Although we are not equipment suppliers, we do have good contacts with a number of suppliers and can source all the equipment you need for a display screen set-up at cost.
