Fire Resistant
The need for public safety is important and legislation for public buildings and construction is
very clear in regards to fire safety. Therefore, Adboards has developed their Blazemaster® range of
products to comply with this legislation.
Blazemaster® has been designed and tested to meet the latest European fire regulations and has
been certified in accordance with EN 13501-1:2007.
The Blazemaster® range means you can have complete confidence that your notice board, covered
notice board or Showcase is approved in accordance with EN 13501-1:2007.
Where fire safety is your ultimate concern our Blazemaster® boards have been tested under the
European Harmonised Standards BS EN 13823: 2002 and BS EN 11925-2 and fully meets the criteria
for Class B. Blazemaster® may therefore be used in locations that previously required British
Standard and Building Regulation classifications of Class 1 and Class ‘O’. For further information
visit our website www.blazemaster.info.
As a general guide Class B products should be used in fire escape routes, corridors, stairways,
lobbies, kitchens, workshops, laboratories etc. If in doubt your local Fire Officer can advise on their
correct use.

locations. The fabric is folded and secured on the reverse
to give a well presented pinning area. The overall
thickness of the board is 12mm. There are two fabric

Sundeala®
Information
This range of products utilises Sundeala® as the Pinboard material. Sundeala® is made from 100% recycled newspaper. Its
environmentally sustainable board is 100% recyclable and meets all UK corporate, government and local
authority environmental policy statements.
There are two types of Sundeala® Board:
K Quality:
Intended for interior use ‘K’ Quality is a class D board and is a natural unbleached light grey colour. The ‘K’ Colourboard is integrally
dyed using non-toxic mineral pigments. Available in the full range of colours. The product conforms to BS EN 622-3 type MBL.
The board thickness is 9mm.
FRB Quality:
Integrally treated by the addition of flame retardants to achieve Class B flame rating under European Harmonised Standard BS EN
13823 2002 & BS EN 11925-1. For interior use where previously Class 1 and Class O options where required. Standard FRB is light
grey in colour; however FRB is also available in blue, green, red, lilac and wheat.

For Scotland, Technical Standards Table 3 (D1.3): Reaction to fire aligns Class B with Class ‘O’ under the
classification of ‘Low’.
In the Republic of Ireland Appendix A and to part B (paragraphs A9 and A10) of Technical Guidance
Document B, Fire Safety, Building Regulations describes Class ‘O’ criteria.

Conditioning:
The cellulose fibre content of Sundeala® requires the board to be conditioned before application. Dry, unconditioned boards may
absorb local atmospheric moisture and thus expand between fixings, making the board bow or warp.
Maintenance:
Damaged or grubby surfaces of all Sundeala® boards can be restored using fine sandpaper. This is particularly beneficial with
Colourboards where dirty marks or scuffs can be easily removed, whilst maintaining the vibrant colour.

not have a fabric covering but rely on the natural finish and

two locking methods available on the doors: Allen key locking
system within the frame and a key lock within the acrylic door.
The tamperproof unit has tough nylon rounded corners which
conceal the fixing screws.

are sold in single packs. They are 9mm thick and have square cut
edges with round corners. The boards are supplied with fixing
tape for wall mounting. These boards are an alternative to the
square cornered unframed Sundeala® noticeboard above. They
are available in the standard Sundeala® colour ranges.

Sundeala® Eco 100% recycled pinable Shapes are the ideal way
to brighten up your walls and add interest to the environment.
Shapes can be used as a focal point, giving a new meaning to
those important messages and displays.
Adhesive fixing tape is supplied with each shape and should be
used on even, level and clean surfaces only.
Sundeala® FRB board has been tested under the European
Harmonised Standards BS EN 13823: 2002 and BS EN 119252 and fully meets the criteria for Class B. Sundeala FRB may
therefore be used in locations that previously required British
Standard and Building Regulation classifications of Class 1 and
Class ‘O’. As a general guide Class B products should be used
in fire escape routes, corridors, stairways, lobbies, kitchens,
workshops, laboratories etc. If in doubt your local Fire Officer
can advise on their correct use.
