Greetings,
We hope everyone is having a great summer! Here at Arlington Sewing Machine we have many classes, clubs,
and events that will keep you out of the heat and bring you indoors where it is cool and relaxing.
Some of the highlights are the Smocking Guild is having a Sit & Sew, Four Times the Fun workshop with
Floriani, Sewing Day/Nite Out, Creative Quilters Guild of Ellis County show, ISS Show in Fort Worth, Scan
N Cut classes, and Anita’s Embroidery Workshops. Also check other class and club options we offer and pick
one or several that will satisfy your creative appetite.
The What’s New pages has new items, which include patterns and books for the little ones, tablet and
Smartphone stands for everyone of all ages, embroidery products from Designs In Machine Embroidery and
Anita Goodesign promoting Christmas in July with beautiful collections to get you started early in the year.

Perfect Quilting is No Accident, Tips and Techniques that make YOU the Decorative Quilter
Fun, Fun, Fun is what this class title should be! We will learn all the latest quilting and appliqué techniques using Floriani
stabilizers and the new My Decorative Quilter embellishing software. We will explore in the hoop quilting projects and how to
perfect them as well as how to embellish with creative threads and embroidery. Learn all about stabilizing embroidered quilts, new

Take your embroidery to the next level in this very informative class. We will explore perfecting the art of embroidery

Creative Stabilizing – Beyond the Basic’s: Projects, Short-Cuts, Gift Ideas, Challenging Fabrics
Learn amazing short-cuts for embroidery on the most challenging of fabrics and textures. We will explore creative
embroidery techniques using very unique stabilizer and thread combinations as well as using stabilizer for foundations of yarn work,
beading, specialty threads, and more! Beyond the Basics will show you how to get more out of all your stabilizers while sharing fun

This will be a hands-on class to better acquaint you with
this wonderful machine. If interested in a Brother Scan
N Cut, this class is for you. The features covered will
include: choosing from one of the 840 designs available,
resizing, scanning before cutting, cut settings, the three
different scanning attributes, icons and what they do,
plus much, much more. One 3-hour class. $20 +

Scan N Cut Appliqué & Piecing

This workshop includes a video that will show many different techniques step-bystep for the 3 projects, Block Into Bag, Sewing Caddy and Checkbook Cover. The
hands-on project for this workshop will be the Block Into Bag for the month of
August. At this time, the September’s project, Episode 8 is still not known but will
surely be something to look forward to.




Affairs of the Heart Quilt Club

Anna Aldmon has done it again! She has created a
beautiful appliquéd quilt based on the Affairs of the
Heart Quilt by Aie Rossmann published by AQS. The
CD includes 36 Different Appliqué Blocks for 6” X 6”
and 8” X 8” hoop sizes. Appliqué fusible pre-cut kits
are available in 6” and 8” blocks and includes six
blocks in each kit. In class plan to create 2-3 blocks
each month. A new pre-cut fusible appliqué kit will be
available every two months. Join us for this new
appliqué Affairs of the Heart quilt. One 3-hour class.

Decorative Sewing Techniques

Let’s get started creating our Quattro/Ellisimo
Workbook! We will begin by working on Decorative
Sewing Techniques on the Quattro/Ellisimo and
create the best reference book ever. Learn about 2
different buttonholes, corded fagoting, decorative
edges and small embroideries, decorative edges,
fil tire’, rolled hems, shadow applique and Venetian
hemstitch. All this with just your sewing machine, no
embroidery machine required! (Other Brother/
Babylock machines can be used as well as long as
the owner knows how to use their machines and
understands that the class is specific to the Quattro/
Ellisimo.) One 3-hour class. $20 + Supplies.
The Serger Workbook class will help you better
understand tension settings, stitch
width, stitch length, differential feed
and various types of stitches.
Applications, such as turning
corners, serging curves, and
securing seams will be included.
This workbook will contain different
fabrics and settings that serve as a
reference for future projects. Prerequisite—need to
know threading of serger and serger must be in
good working order! One 3-hour class.$35 +

Basic Operation Classes
We have designed Basic Operation Classes to help get you started with your new products. Each class that
applies to you may be taken free of charge once within 6 months from the date of purchase. Anyone else is
welcome to pre-register and participate for $75 per class. You must sign up in advance for class. It’s important
to let us know if you need to cancel, as our teachers specifically come in to teach. We often have people waitlisted in some of our classes.
Basic Software
Basic Machine Operation
This class is geared to help you become fully acquainted with your
sewing machine. Learn trouble-free threading, how to use assorted
feet and accessories, routine machine maintenance and more. Note:
a special class discount on all store merchandise (sewing machines
and cabinets excluded) is available to all participants on the day of
class. IMPORTANT: Please bring your sewing machine and manual,
all accessories, power cord and foot control, thread, empty bobbins
and small scissors to clip threads. One 3-hour class. $75.00 (Free if
machine purchased at ASMS within the last 6 months)
Basic Embroidery Machine Operation
As a new machine embroidery owner, this class will teach proper
hooping, stabilizing, threads to be used, choosing and embroidering
a basic design, moving backward and forward in a design, the
difference between a hoop template and a design template and much
more. Please pickup the supply list when registering for the class.
One 3-hour class. $75.00 (Free if machine purchased at ASMS
within the last 6 months)
We Appreciate Your Business!
Find out about your software. Learn the exciting things that can be
done, get questions answered, and the help needed. Bring your
manuals. Laptops are welcome, have the software installed,
updated and please go through the manuals and have questions
marked. These include Basic Pe-Design/Palette Layout & Edit and

Basic BES Embroidery
Lettering Software
This is an opportune time to learn the basics of the new BES
Embroidery Lettering Software. How to add lettering to a design,
merge designs, resize and print templates for perfect placement.
Change colors in designs and see the results before it stitches it out.
This software is fun and very user friendly. One 3-hour class. $75.00
(Free if purchased at ASMS).
Basic Serger Operation
New owners will learn the ease of threading, basic functions such as
differential feed and terms such as loopers, stitch fingers, etc. Also
how to setup for a rolled hem. Bring your serger, foot control,
electrical cord, manual, accessories, four different colors of serger
thread and small scissors. Please be sure to call in advance and
register for the class. One 3-hour class. $75.00 (Free if machine
purchased at ASMS within the last 6 months)
