Acadiana Women’s Health Welcomes New OB

LAFAYETTE, La. – Acadiana Women’s Health Group recently
welcomed Dr. Erin Bouillion Hemsell, OB
OB-GYN, to its team of
physicians.
A native of Judice, Dr. Hemsell said she is excited tto return to practice
in Acadiana.
“This is my home. I have an inherent understanding of tthe people, the

Dr. Hemsell graduated magna cum laude from UL Lafayette in 2005
OB-GYN
with a degree in biology. She earned a medical doctorate in 2009 from
LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport before completing a
residency in obstetrics and gynecology in June at University of Texas Health Science Center
at San Antonio.

Acadiana Women’s Health Group, located on the Women’s & Children’s Hospital campus, is
comprised of seven OB-GYNs
GYNs and two nurse practitioners with more than 180 years of
combined experience. In addition to traditional obstetric and gynecological services, the
group provides minimally invasive laparoscopic hysterectomy, ultrasound, bone density
testing, laser services for hair removal and skin rejuvenation and tattoo removal.
During her academic career, Dr. Hemsell earned several accolades, including the
prestigious Ronald B. George Scholars in Medicine Award and the Nathan Bernstein
Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence. Dr. Hemsell is a member of the American
College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the Louisiana State Medical Society.
