Welcome to our Spring/Summer Season for 2014.
We have lots on offer to entice you into the theatre during these
light evenings. We begin the season with something for our younger
audiences as Peppa Pig and her friends return with a brand new
show, PEPPA PIG’S BIG SPLASH. June sees a new stage adaptation of
Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monk’s WHAT THE LADYBIRD HEARD,
whilst the MILKSHAKE crew arrives in August with a new musical
spectacular that promises lots of fun for all the family.
We welcome a number of events in May as part of the City of Derry
Jazz Festival; KATE RUSBY makes her debut to our stage and THE
FRANKIE VALLI STORY brings a Jersey Boys style show, featuring
three decades of hit songs. Music fans will also be delighted with the
arrival of the former Madness frontman, SUGGS and the hugely
popular group, THE HIGH KINGS, both in May.
Our big West End show this season is the Rod Stewart musical,
TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT. Written by Ben Elton and starring Jade Ewen
from the hit pop group, The Sugababes, this smash hit show bursts
onto our stage for a week-long run in May.
May is shaping up to be a memorable month this season as we also
welcome a brand new dance extravaganza, TITANIC DANCE and the
Tony Award winning musical, AVENUE Q, to our stage.
Our annual youth arts festival, INTERACT, returns this summer, this
time in a brand new format. Now in its sixth year, our dedicated
Youth Forum presents INTERACT’S GREATEST HITS, bringing the best
the festival has to offer for 12-21 year-olds. Our young people are
well catered for again this season with the return of the Youth
Musical in August and their production of the hit musical, LES
MISÉRABLES.
I hope you enjoy our new programme of events.
